AI StrategyConsulting

Cut through the hype with a short, evidence-based plan that ranks where AI can help your operation, what it needs, and what to skip.

AI Strategy Consulting: what the work involves

Owners hear that competitors are using AI, staff are quietly pasting data into chat tools, and vendors pitch a different platform every week. The honest position in most companies is confusion: no list of candidate use cases, no way to compare them, no view of what data is usable, and a fear of spending months on a pilot that never reaches production. Without a plan, the loudest idea wins.

DevKey runs a focused discovery. We interview people who do the work, trace the real workflows, and collect the volumes, error costs and data available. Each candidate use case is scored on value, feasibility, data readiness, risk and change effort, and a few are tested quickly with your own samples. You receive a ranked roadmap with a recommended first build, buy-versus-build advice, a governance outline for data and staff use, and a clear statement of where AI is not the right tool.

What we build

Core features

01

Workflow and pain-point mapping

We sit with the people doing the work to document steps, volumes, errors and delays, because savings are found in the detail, not the org chart.

02

Use-case scoring matrix

Candidates are rated for value, feasibility, data readiness, risk and effort in a table you can read and challenge.

03

Data readiness review

We check what data exists, where it lives, its quality and who owns it, since weak data derails more projects than weak models.

04

Quick sample tests

A few top ideas are tried on real examples to replace opinion with evidence before anyone commits to a build.

05

Build, buy or wait advice

For each priority we compare off-the-shelf tools, custom builds and doing nothing yet, with the trade-offs in plain language.

06

Governance and policy outline

A short document covers acceptable use, data handling, human review and vendor selection, so adoption stays controlled.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Consultants have incentives

A firm that also builds software may be tempted to recommend a build. We state our interest openly, include options that need no custom development, and give you a roadmap you can take to any vendor.

Value claims need your numbers

Savings estimates rest on volumes, wages and error costs that only you can confirm. We show our assumptions, mark which are uncertain, and avoid presenting a forecast as a promise.

People and process come first

AI that staff do not trust or that conflicts with how work is measured will be ignored. We address training, ownership and incentives alongside the technology, and plan how teams will work with the output.

AI Strategy Consulting FAQ

Common questions, answered

How long does a strategy engagement take?

Typically a few weeks, depending on company size and access to people and data. A focused discovery for a single department is shorter, and we agree scope and interview schedule at the start.

Do we need clean data before we begin?

No. Part of the work is assessing what you have and what must be fixed. Many first projects are chosen specifically because the data is already good enough, and data improvement can be a recommended step.

Will you recommend only your own services?

No. Where a ready-made product, a simple automation tool or a process change solves the problem, we will say so. The roadmap is yours to execute with us or anyone else.

What will we receive at the end?

A written report with the scored use-case list, a recommended sequence, risks and governance guidance, plus a working session with your leadership team to agree the next step.
