AI Voice AgentDevelopment

A voice agent that answers the phone, understands what the caller wants, completes simple tasks and transfers to a person when the conversation gets difficult.

AI Voice Agent Development: what the work involves

Missed calls are lost business, yet a small office cannot keep someone on the phone all day. Calls arrive during meetings, lunch and evenings, callers hang up rather than leave voicemail, and the person who does answer spends minutes on questions a website already answers. Traditional phone menus, press one for sales, press two for support, push people away more than they route them.

A voice agent chains four parts together in real time. Streaming speech recognition turns the caller's audio into text, a language model decides what to say or which tool to call, a text-to-speech engine speaks the answer, and a telephony layer such as Twilio carries the audio. Latency decides whether it feels natural, so we stream every stage and keep prompts short. We script the greeting, define the tasks it may complete, such as booking or taking a message, and configure a warm transfer to a staff number for everything else.

What we build

Core features

01

Real-time conversation

Streaming recognition and synthesis let the agent respond with short pauses, allowing callers to interrupt it naturally as they would a person.

02

Task completion by phone

It can take messages, check availability, book a slot or look up an order by tool calls, then confirm the details back to the caller.

03

Warm transfer to staff

When the caller asks for a person or the agent loses confidence, the call is forwarded along with a short text summary of what was said.

04

Call summaries and transcripts

Each call produces a transcript, a short summary, the caller's intent and any captured fields, sent to your inbox, CRM or chat channel.

05

Business hours logic

Behaviour changes by time of day: full service during hours, message-taking overnight, and a different script for urgent keywords.

06

Outbound reminders

For appointments or deliveries, the agent can place short confirmation calls to consenting customers and log whether they confirmed or asked to reschedule.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Accents, noise and Urdu speech

Recognition accuracy drops with phone-line noise, strong accents and code-switching between Urdu and English. We test on recordings similar to your callers and keep a clean fall-back to a person.

Consent and call recording rules

Recording laws differ between Pakistan, Australia and US states. We announce that the call is automated and recorded where required, store audio only as long as needed and limit who can listen.

Latency and telephony cost

Every turn costs recognition, model and speech time, and telephony minutes add up. We tune model size and prompt length for speed, and agree usage limits so a long call cannot run unattended indefinitely.

AI Voice Agent Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Will callers know it is an AI?

We recommend disclosing it in the greeting, and some jurisdictions expect it. People are generally fine with an automated assistant that is quick and offers a human on request, but resent being misled.

Can it speak Urdu?

Speech recognition for Urdu exists but is less accurate than for English, especially on noisy lines. We evaluate options on sample calls from your business before promising anything and keep human transfer available.

Can it replace my receptionist?

It is better seen as coverage for missed and after-hours calls and as a filter for routine questions. Complex, emotional or high-value calls should still reach a person, and we design the transfer to be smooth.

What affects the running cost?

Call minutes, speech recognition and synthesis usage, model calls per turn and hosting. Average call length and call volume matter most. We model these against your call logs so you can budget with realistic numbers.
