Core Web VitalsOptimization

Core Web Vitals measure how your pages feel to real visitors on real phones. We diagnose the slow templates and fix them at the code level.

Core Web Vitals Optimization: what the work involves

Google's page experience metrics look at loading, responsiveness and visual stability: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift. Pages that fail them frustrate people on mid-range phones and patchy connections, which describes many of your customers. Yet teams often chase a perfect Lighthouse score while the field data from actual visitors tells a different story.

We begin with Search Console's Core Web Vitals report and CrUX to learn which page groups genuinely struggle, then reproduce the problems in lab tools to find the cause. Typical culprits are oversized hero images, render-blocking scripts, third-party tags, late-loading fonts and elements without reserved space. We implement the fixes, retest and then wait for field data to confirm, which takes several weeks.

What we build

Core features

01

Field-first diagnosis

CrUX and Search Console data show which templates fail for real users, so engineering time is not spent on pages nobody struggles with.

02

Largest Contentful Paint fixes

Hero images, server response, preloading and render-blocking resources are reworked so the main content appears sooner.

03

Interaction responsiveness work

Long tasks, heavy event handlers and oversized bundles are profiled and broken down so taps and clicks respond promptly.

04

Layout stability repair

Dimensions for images, embeds and ads, font fallback metrics and injected banners are handled so content stops jumping.

05

Third-party script review

Chat widgets, tag managers and tracking pixels are measured for their cost, then deferred, replaced or removed.

06

Regression guard

Performance budgets and Lighthouse checks in your build process catch slowdowns before they reach visitors.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Field data lags behind fixes

CrUX uses a rolling window of real visits, so improvements take weeks to appear in Search Console. We report lab results immediately and field results when they arrive.

Lab scores can mislead

Lighthouse runs one simulated load on a single device. A high score does not prove that visitors on slow networks have a good experience.

Vitals are a tiebreaker, not a trump card

Google treats page experience as one of many signals. Fast pages with weak content will not outrank strong pages that are merely adequate.

Core Web Vitals Optimization FAQ

Common questions, answered

What are the Core Web Vitals?

Three user-centred measures: Largest Contentful Paint for loading, Interaction to Next Paint for responsiveness and Cumulative Layout Shift for visual stability. Google publishes thresholds for each, assessed on real-user data.

Will passing Core Web Vitals improve my rankings?

It can help at the margin, and it improves user experience, which supports conversions. It is not a shortcut to the top, because relevance and content quality remain far more influential.

Why does Search Console still show errors after we fixed things?

The report is built from a rolling period of real visits, so it needs weeks to reflect improvements. We validate with lab tests straight away and use the field report to confirm the change later.

Can you optimise our WordPress or Shopify site?

Yes. Platforms have different levers, such as theme code, apps, caching and image delivery. We identify which are available to you and sometimes recommend lighter templates for the key pages.
