Local Landing PageStrategy

Not every town needs its own page. We decide which local pages earn their place and give each one something true and specific to say.

Local Landing Page Strategy: what the work involves

Service businesses are tempted to build a page for every suburb and city they might serve, each repeating the same text with the place name swapped. Search engines have a name for this, doorway pages, and a policy against them. Yet local pages are valuable when they reflect real work: a plumber who genuinely serves a district can answer questions customers in that area have, show local jobs and describe response times. The strategy question is where the line falls between helpful and spammy.

We start with your real service footprint: where jobs actually come from, where you have a presence and where competitors are strong. For each candidate area we ask what distinct content we can honestly provide, such as projects completed nearby, local regulations, travel times, area-specific problems and customer feedback. Areas with substance get a full page; others are covered by a single regional page listing coverage. We also design the internal linking, structured data and Business Profile connections that tie local pages to the wider site.

What we build

Core features

01

Footprint and demand analysis

Use of job records, search data and competitor presence to decide which areas justify a dedicated page.

02

Page-worthiness test

A checklist of distinct local content each page must have before it is written, which filters out areas with nothing real to say.

03

Local content frameworks

Templates that structure but do not dictate content, with prompts for local projects, regulations, travel details and testimonials.

04

Regional consolidation

Coverage pages for smaller areas that list suburbs without pretending each deserves a standalone article.

05

Linking and schema

Navigation, internal links and LocalBusiness or Service structured data that connect location pages with service pages and your profile.

06

Existing page remediation

Review of templated pages already live, with recommendations to enrich, merge, redirect or remove those that add nothing.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Doorway page policy

Pages created mainly to rank for location variations, funnelling users to the same place, violate Google's spam policies. Substance and a genuine service presence are the safeguard.

Service-area businesses and addresses

A business without a storefront in a town should not claim one. Listing fake addresses on pages or profiles risks suspension and harms customer trust.

Local proof must be real

Showcasing projects or testimonials from areas you have not served is deceptive. Every local detail on a page must be something you can substantiate.

Local Landing Page Strategy FAQ

Common questions, answered

How many location pages should we have?

As many as you can fill with distinct, true local content, and no more. Often that is a small number of areas where you really work. We decide with your job data, not by listing every suburb.

Can we reuse the same text for each town?

Reusing a template structure is fine, but the content must differ in substance. Identical text with a swapped place name is the pattern that search engines treat as low-value or doorway material.

What if we serve an area but have no office there?

Describe it honestly as a service area. Do not invent an address. Provide useful detail such as coverage, travel times and examples of work in that area, which is what customers need.

Will local pages bring us map pack rankings?

Map results rely mostly on your Business Profile, proximity and reviews. Local landing pages support organic results and relevance, but they do not substitute for profile work and cannot guarantee map placement.
