Sports Club WebsiteDevelopment
A club website that keeps fixtures, squads, ground bookings and member dues in one place instead of scattered across WhatsApp groups.
Sports Club Website Development: what the work involves
A sports club runs on volunteers and group chats. Fixture lists get posted as a screenshot, the squad for Sunday changes three times, someone is chasing last season's dues, and a parent asks which ground the under-15s are playing at. Sponsors and local press, meanwhile, have no single place to look. The result is a club that is busy and active but looks invisible online, and organisers who burn their weekends on admin.
We give the club a structured home. Teams, players, fixtures and results are separate records, so a match report and a league table update from the same entry. Coaches can publish squads, parents get age-group pages, and the ground or court calendar accepts booking requests from outsiders when slots are free. Membership and dues are tracked per person with simple reminders. Public pages are quick and shareable; management tools sit behind a login.
Core features
Fixtures, results and tables
Enter a match once and it feeds the fixture list, team page and league table without re-typing.
Team and player profiles
Squads by age group with roles, photos and season records, kept up to date by the coaches themselves.
Ground and court booking
Hourly slots for turf, nets or courts with a request-and-confirm flow, plus floodlight surcharges if you apply them.
Match reports and media
Simple posts with photo galleries and video links, so the club's story builds a searchable archive.
Membership and dues tracking
Annual or monthly fees per member, status flags and reminder messages for those behind.
Sponsor placements
Sponsor logos and pages with fair rotation, giving local businesses visible value on match days.
What we get right before launch
Minors and photographs
Junior players mean consent matters. We add parent-consent records and keep under-age profiles minimal.
Volunteer-friendly editing
If the person updating results changes every season, the admin must be simple enough for a new volunteer on day one.
Weather and rescheduling
Fixtures move often. Change notices should reach squads quickly, so we build alerts rather than relying on someone remembering to post.

Common questions, answered
Can coaches update results without a developer?
Yes. Coaches or team managers get role-based access to enter scores and squads for their own teams only, while an administrator controls the master calendar and public pages.
Can outsiders rent our ground online?
Yes. Slots can be requested or paid for online, then confirmed by staff. Rules such as minimum duration, peak pricing and cancellation windows are configurable without code changes.
Do you support live scoring?
Basic live score updates can be built, but a full ball-by-ball scoring product is a different scope. We would discuss integrating an existing scoring tool versus building a lightweight update screen.
What affects the project timeline?
The number of teams and competitions, whether ground booking and payments are included, and how much historic data needs importing. A simple fixtures-and-news site is a lighter build than a full club management setup.
