E-commerce OrderAutomation

Move orders from checkout to doorstep with fewer touches: validation, stock allocation, courier booking and status messages handled by one pipeline.

E-commerce Order Automation: what the work involves

A growing online store quickly turns into a tangle of tabs. Orders land from the website, Instagram DMs and marketplaces. Someone calls to confirm cash-on-delivery, someone else checks stock in a spreadsheet, a third person books the courier and pastes the tracking number back. Mistakes appear as oversold items, wrong addresses and customers asking where their parcel is.

DevKey builds an order pipeline that listens to every channel through webhooks. New orders are normalised, addresses are cleaned and verified, and risk rules score the order, with a message-based confirmation for high-risk cash-on-delivery cases. Stock is reserved, the right courier is booked through its API, labels are generated and tracking is pushed to the customer. Language models handle messy free-text, such as addresses and customer notes, while exceptions land in a staff queue.

What we build

Core features

01

Multi-channel order ingestion

Webhooks and APIs bring orders from stores, marketplaces and chat channels into one record format, so downstream steps do not depend on where the order began.

02

Address cleaning and geocoding

Free-text addresses are parsed into city, area and landmark fields, checked against courier coverage, and flagged when they are too vague to deliver.

03

COD risk screening

Order value, history, address quality and past returns feed a score that decides whether to ship, request confirmation or hold for a person.

04

Stock reservation and routing

Inventory is allocated from the correct warehouse or shop, with backorders and partial shipments handled by rules you define.

05

Courier booking and labels

Shipments are created with your chosen carriers' APIs, labels printed, and tracking numbers written back to the store and customer message.

06

Proactive status messages

Customers receive updates on confirmation, dispatch and delay, and replies like change my address are routed to a staff member with the order attached.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Never auto-cancel on a guess

A fraud or risk score can be wrong. High-risk orders trigger a confirmation step or a staff check; we do not cancel real customers' orders purely on a model's suspicion.

Courier API variation

Each carrier has its own rules, rate limits and failure responses. We wrap them behind one interface with retries and alerts, so a courier outage pauses booking visibly rather than dropping orders.

Idempotency and duplicate orders

Webhook retries can create duplicate orders or double shipments. Each order gets a unique key, and every action checks state before running, which keeps stock and shipping counts truthful.

E-commerce Order Automation FAQ

Common questions, answered

Which couriers can you integrate?

Pakistani carriers that offer APIs, such as common national couriers, plus international options like Australia Post, FedEx or ShipStation for overseas stores. We confirm API access and test bookings before committing.

Can it confirm cash-on-delivery orders on WhatsApp?

Yes. Using the WhatsApp Business API, it sends a confirmation message, interprets the reply including Roman Urdu, and updates the order. Ambiguous or angry replies go to a person.

Will this work with our existing Shopify or WooCommerce store?

Yes. It connects through the platforms' APIs and webhooks, without replacing your storefront. Themes and checkout remain as they are, and the pipeline runs alongside.

How are returns and failed deliveries handled?

Courier status updates trigger rules: reattempt, contact the customer, or start a return. Stock is restored only when the returned parcel is scanned in, avoiding phantom inventory.

What affects the price?

Number of sales channels, couriers, warehouses, and the complexity of your risk and routing rules. Order volume matters mainly for hosting and messaging fees. We scope after mapping your current flow.
