Commission Shop SoftwareDevelopment
Record each lot from the supplier, sell it to buyers, deduct commission and charges, and settle supplier and buyer accounts every day.
Commission Shop Software Development: what the work involves
A commission shop, common in grain, fruit, vegetable and livestock markets, earns its living from the gap between what the supplier consigns and what the buyers pay. A single day involves dozens of lots, many buyers on credit, weights that change after weighing, and deductions for labour, packing, market fees and commission. In handwritten ledgers, one wrong total spreads into disputes with farmers and buyers, and settling accounts at day end consumes the owner's evening.
DevKey builds commission shop software around the lot. A lot is received from a supplier with quantity and weight, sold in one or several sales to buyers, and then settled: the supplier receives the net amount after commission and expense deductions, while buyers are debited on their ledgers. We also develop ARTI Commission Shop, our own desktop product for this trade; custom builds follow the same offline-first thinking, with SQLite on the counter machine and optional sync to a central server.
Core features
Supplier and buyer ledgers
Farmers, traders and buyers each have a running account with opening balance, entries and printable statements in the language you use.
Lot receipt and sale entry
Record incoming lots with weight, quality and count, then enter sales to one or more buyers at agreed rates.
Commission and expense rules
Commission by percentage or per unit, plus labour, packing, market fee and carriage, configurable by commodity and party.
Daily settlement
Net payable to each supplier and net receivable from each buyer are computed from the day's lots, ready to print and pay.
Cash, cheque and advance handling
Advances given to farmers, cash paid, cheques received and post-dated cheques are tracked and applied to the right account.
Commodity and profit reports
Commission earned by commodity and period, outstanding by party, and day book and cash book for the owner and accountant.
What we get right before launch
Offline operation in the market
Markets have unreliable connections and early starts. The desktop app works from a local database, backs up automatically, and syncs to a server only if you want a second location or remote access.
Weight and rate corrections
Quantities are often corrected after weighing. Edits keep the original entry, record who changed it and why, and recalculate settlement so supplier disputes can be settled from the trail.
Local language and formats
Staff think in local units such as maund and bori, and often prefer Urdu labels. We support your units, bilingual statements and print layouts that match existing slips.

Common questions, answered
Do you already have a product for commission shops?
Yes. ARTI Commission Shop is our own desktop software for this trade. If it fits your workflow, you can start with it, and we build a custom version when your commodities, rules or reports need more than the standard product.
Can it print in Urdu and local units?
Yes. Statements, slips and reports can be bilingual, and quantities can use units such as maund, kg and bori with conversions. We replicate your existing slip layouts so farmers and buyers recognise the format.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The app runs entirely from a local database on the shop computer, with scheduled backups to a drive or cloud folder. Internet is only needed if you add remote access or multi-location sync.
Can we bring in our old ledger balances?
Yes. We enter or import opening balances party by party from your ledger, and run the first days in parallel with your books. Differences are checked until the balances agree, then you can stop the manual register.
