Contract Management SoftwareDevelopment

Know what every agreement commits you to, when it renews and who must act, before the notice period silently passes.

Contract Management Software Development: what the work involves

Contracts hold promises with dates attached: renewal windows, price reviews, delivery milestones, termination notice. Most companies store them as PDFs in folders, so the dates only matter when someone remembers to read them. A supplier agreement auto-renews because the notice deadline passed unseen, or a client contract lapses and work continues unpaid. The problem is not the filing but the lack of any system watching the obligations.

DevKey builds contract management around the agreement, its parties, clauses and obligations. Each contract has a type, value, term, renewal logic and an owner. Key dates and obligations are extracted into reminders, drafts move through legal and finance approval, and amendments create versions linked to the original. Standard clause libraries speed drafting, and reports show expiring contracts, exposure by counterparty and obligations falling due, with documents stored in a controlled repository.

What we build

Core features

01

Contract register

Counterparty, type, value, start and end dates, owner and status for every agreement, searchable and filterable.

02

Drafting from templates

Approved clause libraries and templates assemble first drafts, with variable fields filled from the counterparty record.

03

Approval routing

Legal, finance and management approve in the order you set, and the signed copy is stored against the contract.

04

Obligations and milestones

Deliverables, payment dates and reporting duties are tracked as tasks with owners, due dates and completion evidence.

05

Renewal and notice alerts

Alerts ahead of renewal and termination-notice dates go to the contract owner and their manager, with escalation.

06

Amendments and version history

Addenda link to their parent agreement, and a timeline shows what terms were in force on any given date.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Not a substitute for legal advice

The software tracks and routes; it does not judge enforceability. Clause libraries and templates should be reviewed by your lawyer, and we keep that review inside the approval workflow.

Extracting dates from legacy contracts

Existing contracts need their key dates keyed in. We prioritise active and high-value agreements, load dates with page references, and have the owner confirm them once.

Confidential commercial terms

Pricing and penalties are sensitive. Visibility is by contract and role, so procurement does not see HR agreements, and downloads of executed contracts are logged.

Contract Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Will it warn us before contracts renew?

Yes. Each contract carries renewal and notice dates, and alerts go to the owner and manager at intervals you choose, with escalation if no action is recorded. That removes dependence on someone's calendar or memory.

Can it include e-signature?

It can integrate with an e-signature provider so signed copies return automatically. The legal standing of electronic signatures for particular contract types varies, so check requirements with your legal adviser before relying on it.

Does it work for lease and vendor contracts alike?

Yes. Contract types have their own fields and workflows, so a lease tracks rent and escalation while a supplier agreement tracks pricing and service levels. All sit in one register with consistent reminders.

How do we get existing contracts in?

Upload the documents, then capture key metadata and dates for each. We can bulk-import from a spreadsheet and attach files by name. Active and expiring agreements go first, so protection starts where the risk is highest.
