Dental Practice SoftwareDevelopment

Chart treatment tooth by tooth, quote multi-visit plans, bill by stage and remind patients to return, all inside a record built for dentistry.

Dental Practice Software Development: what the work involves

Dental care differs from a general clinic in structure: treatment is planned in stages across several visits, tied to specific teeth, and paid for in instalments. Patients accept a plan on Monday and are expected back in three weeks. General clinic software has no tooth chart and no concept of a treatment plan, so dentists keep notes on paper, front desks track balances by hand, and recall visits simply do not happen.

We build dental systems around the tooth chart and the treatment plan. The dentist records conditions and procedures per tooth and surface, builds a plan with estimated charges, and each completed step moves the plan forward and posts a bill. The system tracks laboratory cases for crowns and dentures, stores X-rays and intra-oral photographs against the visit, and drives recall reminders. It can run as a web app or an offline-first desktop client at the chair side.

What we build

Core features

01

Interactive tooth chart

Record existing conditions and completed work by tooth and surface, in adult and paediatric dentition, with history visible at each visit.

02

Treatment plans and estimates

Group procedures into staged plans with estimates, let the patient accept parts, and track what remains to be done.

03

Stage-wise billing and instalments

Charges post as procedures complete, advances and instalments are applied, and the outstanding balance is visible on every visit.

04

X-ray and photo storage

Radiographs and clinical photos are attached to the patient and visit, with before-and-after views for review and consent.

05

Dental lab case tracking

Send crown, bridge or denture cases to a lab with due dates, and see which are overdue or waiting for fitting.

06

Recall and reminders

Scaling, review and orthodontic adjustment recalls are scheduled and reminders go out by message, filling empty chair time.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Clinical notes as legal record

Dental notes can be needed in disputes. Entries are time-stamped, edits keep the earlier version, and signed-off visits become read-only to protect their reliability.

Imaging integration

Sensors and scanners ship with vendor software. We check whether images can be imported from a folder or a standard interface, rather than assuming a direct link will exist.

Instalment tracking accuracy

Long treatments mean partial payments over months. We model plan balance separately from visit charges so a patient can see what is paid, due and still planned.

Dental Practice Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Do you support a proper dental chart?

Yes. The chart is interactive and tooth-specific, showing conditions and treatments by surface. We adapt the numbering notation your clinic uses and the procedure list to match the terms your dentists already write.

Can patients pay for treatment in instalments?

Yes. A plan holds the estimate, payments are applied as they arrive, and the balance shows at each visit. Reports list patients with unfinished plans and overdue instalments so reception can follow up politely.

Can it manage several dentists and branches?

Yes. Each dentist has a schedule and production figures, and each branch has its own cash and stock. Owners can compare procedures, collections and chair utilisation across locations from one dashboard.

How do you handle patient privacy and images?

Patient files and images are stored with role-based access and encrypted backups, and views are logged. We also help set sensible consent and retention practices so photographs are used only as the patient agreed.
