Garment Production SoftwareDevelopment
Track each style from buyer order through cutting, stitching, finishing and shipment, with bundle-level scans and daily line output.
Garment Production Software Development: what the work involves
A garment factory handles a swarm of small, specific things: an order broken into sizes and colours, fabric consumption per style, cut panels bundled and sent down a line, and operators paid by the piece. Orders are won and lost on delivery dates, but progress is tracked on blackboards and in supervisors' diaries. Missing panels, wrong-size bundles and rework surface at the end of the line, and shipment dates slip with little warning.
DevKey builds garment production around the style order, its size-colour matrix and the bundle. Orders record buyer, style, quantities per size and colour and ship dates; fabric and trim requirements derive from the bill of materials; cutting creates bundles with barcode tickets; stitching and finishing scans record output by operation, operator and line. The data feeds piece-rate wages, line efficiency and WIP reports, and shipment planning compares what is packed with what the buyer ordered.
Core features
Order and size-colour matrix
Buyer orders with style, PO, quantities per size and colour, delivery dates and tolerances for over and under shipment.
Fabric and trim requirements
Consumption per style, wastage allowance and required purchases computed from the order, with issues to cutting recorded.
Cutting and bundle tickets
Cut plans produce bundle barcodes with size, shade and lay number, so panels can be traced through the line.
Line output and WIP
Scans at stitching, checking and finishing record output per operation, operator and hour, with live WIP on the floor.
Piece-rate wages
Operator earnings computed from scanned operations at agreed rates, feeding payroll with a transparent daily statement.
Packing and shipment
Carton packing lists by size-colour ratio, shipment against order, and reports on ordered, produced and shipped quantities.
What we get right before launch
Scanning on a busy line
If scanning slows output, operators avoid it. We test ticket formats and scanner placement on a real line, and keep the scan to one action per bundle per operation.
Order changes mid-production
Buyers revise quantities and dates late. Order amendments are versioned, and the plan shows the effect on fabric, line loading and ship dates immediately.
Piece-rate fairness
Wages tied to scans create disputes if counts are wrong. Operators can view their own counts daily, and corrections require a supervisor and leave a record.

Common questions, answered
Can it track bundles through the stitching line?
Yes. Each bundle gets a barcode ticket at cutting, and scans at operations record who handled it and when. That gives live work-in-progress, shows bottlenecks on the line and traces defects back to an operator or lot.
Does it calculate operator piece-rate pay?
Yes. Scanned operations are multiplied by the operation rate and summed per operator for the period, with adjustments for rework or absence. The totals can feed your payroll module, and operators can verify their own counts.
Can it manage multiple buyers with different requirements?
Yes. Buyer-specific packing rules, labelling formats, tolerances and documents are stored per buyer or per order, so shipments and documents follow each customer's requirements without staff memorising them.
How does it relate to production planning?
Garment production covers the factory flow from order to shipment. Production planning adds finite-capacity scheduling across machines and lines. Many factories begin with order and bundle tracking and add planning once output data is reliable.
