SaaS ProductDevelopment

Build a software product that many customers subscribe to, with the billing, onboarding and operations a service needs behind the features.

SaaS Product Development: what the work involves

A SaaS product is not just an application on a server. It is a business: customers sign up themselves, choose a plan, pay on a schedule, expect near-constant availability and email you when something breaks. The engineering that surrounds the core feature, such as accounts, billing, permissions, usage limits, audit logs and an admin console, often outweighs the feature itself, and founders underestimate it.

DevKey builds SaaS products by shipping the thin core first and putting the foundations in the right order. We choose a tenancy model, set up authentication and subscriptions with Stripe or a local alternative, instrument usage, and deploy with automated pipelines, monitoring and backups. An internal admin area lets your team support customers without touching the database. We shape scope together so you can launch a focused first version and learn from real users.

What we build

Core features

01

Product scoping and roadmap

Define the core job the product does, the first release boundary and what waits until customers ask for it.

02

Accounts, teams and roles

Self-service sign-up, invitations, role-based permissions and organisation accounts form the base every feature builds on.

03

Subscription billing

Plans, trials, upgrades, invoices and failed-payment handling through a payment provider, with plan limits enforced inside the product.

04

Onboarding and activation

A guided first-run experience gets a new customer to their first useful result quickly, which matters more than any feature list.

05

Admin console and support tools

Look up an account, see its usage, impersonate with an audit trail and fix problems without developer intervention.

06

Observability and release pipeline

Error tracking, logs, uptime checks, automated tests and one-click deploys keep the service reliable as it changes weekly.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Tenancy decision

Whether customers share a database or each gets an isolated one shapes cost, security and migration. We decide early with your customer profile and compliance needs in mind.

Payments from Pakistan

Stripe availability depends on where your company is registered. We design billing behind an interface so a local gateway or manual invoicing can serve the markets that need it.

Operating it after launch

A SaaS never finishes. Support, backups, security updates and monitoring continue, so we define who handles them and offer a maintenance arrangement for your team.

SaaS Product Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

How is SaaS development different from building a normal app?

A normal app serves one organisation. SaaS must serve many separately, handle subscriptions and self-service sign-up, and run reliably without you intervening. Those foundations are a large share of the work.

Should we launch with every feature?

No. We recommend a narrow first release that solves one problem well, so you reach real customers sooner. Evidence from their usage should decide what the next features are, not guesses made before launch.

Can we accept payments from customers abroad?

Often yes, through a provider such as Stripe, subject to where your business entity is registered. We build billing so providers can be swapped, and help you check eligibility before committing to one.

Who owns the code?

You do. We deliver the repository, documentation and deployment scripts, and agree handover terms in the contract. You are free to keep working with us or take the product to another team.
