Supply Chain Management SoftwareDevelopment

Connect suppliers, warehouses, shipments and customer demand in one view, so a delay upstream is seen before it becomes a stockout downstream.

Supply Chain Management Software Development: what the work involves

A supply chain fails quietly. A supplier ships late, a container waits at port, a warehouse runs short and a customer order stalls, and each team only learns about its own piece. Information sits in emails between buyers and suppliers, in spreadsheets of shipment dates, and in the memory of the planner who knows which vendor never meets promised dates. The business pays in expediting costs, idle stock and missed orders.

We build supply chain systems around the flow from demand to supply: forecasts and sales orders on one side, purchase orders, supplier confirmations, shipments and receipts on the other, with stock positions at every node between. Suppliers confirm dates through a portal; shipment milestones are logged; and the planner sees projected stock by item and week with alerts where supply will not meet demand. Performance data on lead times and fill rates builds a record for each supplier.

What we build

Core features

01

Demand and replenishment planning

Sales history and open orders drive suggested purchase quantities and timing, with safety stock settings per item and location.

02

Supplier collaboration portal

Suppliers confirm quantities and dates, upload shipping documents and update milestones without emailing the buyer.

03

Shipment and milestone tracking

Orders move through production, dispatch, port, customs and arrival milestones, with expected and actual dates side by side.

04

Multi-location stock visibility

On-hand, in-transit and committed stock per warehouse, with transfer suggestions where one site is long and another short.

05

Exception alerts

Late shipments, partial confirmations and projected stockouts raise alerts to the right planner with the affected orders listed.

06

Supplier performance scorecards

On-time rate, lead-time variance and quality rejections per supplier, to inform allocation and negotiations.

What we get right before launch

Data you can actually get

Planning needs reliable lead times and sales history. We assess what data exists, start with what is trustworthy, and avoid forecasting on numbers nobody believes.

Supplier adoption

A portal fails if suppliers ignore it. We keep it to a few fields, support email confirmation as a fallback and bring the largest suppliers on first.

Import documentation and customs

Imported goods bring documents, duties and clearing agent steps. We track document status per shipment and capture landed cost so margins reflect what the goods truly cost.

Supply Chain Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Do we need this if we already have an ERP?

If your ERP gives planners projected stock, supplier confirmations and shipment milestones in one view, probably not. If those live in spreadsheets around it, a supply chain layer that reads from the ERP can close the gap.

Can suppliers access it?

Yes, through a restricted portal showing only their own purchase orders. They confirm dates, update shipment status and upload documents. Email-based confirmation can remain as a fallback for suppliers who will not log in.

How does forecasting work?

We start with practical methods: recent consumption, seasonality and open orders, with planners able to override. Advanced models are possible when you have enough clean history, but simple, explainable suggestions are usually where the value begins.

Can it track landed cost on imports?

Yes. Freight, duties, clearing and other charges can be attached to a shipment and allocated to the items received, so inventory is valued at true landed cost and margin reports are not flattering.
