GA4 and Marketing AnalyticsSetup

Measurement you can trust: events defined, consent respected and dashboards that agree with your sales records.

GA4 and Marketing Analytics Setup: what the work involves

Many businesses discover that their analytics has been quietly wrong for months. Purchases are counted twice, internal traffic inflates sessions, form submissions are never tracked and each ad platform reports a different number of sales. Decisions about budget are then made on figures nobody believes, and arguments about attribution replace work on growth.

We begin with a measurement plan that lists the business questions, the events that answer them and the owner of each number. Then we implement GA4 and Google Tag Manager with a documented naming convention, connect ad platforms, add server-side or Conversions API events where valuable and configure consent mode. Dashboards in Looker Studio present agreed metrics, and a short handover session shows your team how to read them.

What we build

Core features

01

Measurement plan

Business questions are mapped to events and parameters in a shared document, so everyone knows what is tracked and why.

02

GA4 property configuration

Data streams, conversions, internal traffic filters, retention and cross-domain settings are configured according to how your site actually operates.

03

Tag Manager implementation

Tags, triggers and a data layer are built with version notes and preview testing, which keeps deployments safe and reversible.

04

Server-side tagging and CAPI

A server container and platform conversion APIs send more durable events, helping measurement survive blockers and browser limits.

05

Consent mode and privacy settings

Cookie banners are connected to consent signals so tags respect choices, while modelled data fills some gaps where permitted.

06

Looker Studio reporting

Dashboards combine ad spend, site behaviour and sales into views for the owner, the marketer and the sales lead.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Consent laws differ by market

Visitors from Europe, Australia and some US states bring different consent expectations. We configure banners and defaults to match where your audience lives.

Numbers will not match exactly

Analytics, ad platforms and your backend count differently. We document the reasons and agree which source decides budget, instead of chasing impossible parity.

Tracking breaks after site changes

A theme update or new checkout can silently remove events. We add monitoring checks and a release checklist to catch breaks early.

GA4 and Marketing Analytics Setup FAQ

Common questions, answered

Why do my GA4 numbers differ from Meta or Google Ads?

Each tool uses different attribution windows, user matching and consent rules. We align definitions where possible and document remaining differences so you can read them correctly.

Do I need server-side tracking?

Not for every business. It helps where paid media drives sales, browsers block scripts or accuracy matters for optimisation. We assess your volume and tools before recommending it.

Can you fix tracking on Shopify or WooCommerce?

Yes. We configure purchase, cart and checkout events on common platforms, deduplicate browser and server signals and test with real transactions before signing off.

Will I be able to understand the reports?

That is the aim. Dashboards use plain labels, each metric has a definition and we run a handover session so your team can answer routine questions without calling us.
