Agriculture AppDevelopment

Farmers need timely answers in their own language, often with poor signal and little time. We build agriculture apps around the field, not the office.

Agriculture App Development: what the work involves

An agriculture app brings information and markets to growers: crop advice, weather, input prices, mandi rates, equipment hire and direct sales. The business problem is access. Many farmers rely on middlemen for prices and on word of mouth for advice, so an app that is trusted, simple and in Urdu or a regional language can change how they buy seed and sell harvest.

DevKey builds agriculture apps with offline-first storage, voice prompts and icon-led navigation for users with limited literacy or data. A Node.js and PostgreSQL backend carries crop calendars, advisory content, price feeds and orders. Agronomists and traders get a web panel to answer queries and publish rates, while the farmer app syncs quietly whenever a signal appears.

What we build

Core features

01

Crop calendar and advisory

Season-wise guidance on sowing, irrigation, pests and harvest, tailored to crop and district, with photo-based questions answered by an agronomist.

02

Mandi rates and price alerts

Daily commodity prices by market with alerts when a chosen crop crosses a price, so farmers sell with more information.

03

Weather and field alerts

Local forecasts, rainfall and heat warnings pushed in simple language, including voice messages for farmers who prefer listening.

04

Input ordering and delivery

Order seed, fertiliser or pesticide from verified suppliers with cash on delivery or wallet payment and order tracking to the village.

05

Sell and connect to buyers

List produce with quantity and quality details, receive offers from traders and agree pickup, reducing dependence on a single middleman.

06

Urdu, regional and voice support

Right-to-left Urdu, regional language options, large icons and spoken prompts that make the app usable without confident reading.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Connectivity and literacy

Rural coverage is patchy and many users read little. We design offline-first caching, small downloads and visual navigation, then test in the field with real farmers.

Trust in advice and prices

Wrong advice costs a harvest. Advisory content is reviewed by qualified agronomists, price sources are labelled and timestamps are always visible.

Payments in cash economies

Many transactions still happen in cash. Cash on delivery, agent-assisted ordering and wallet payments through JazzCash and Easypaisa fit how rural buyers actually pay.

Agriculture App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can the app work with poor mobile signal?

Yes. We store content, prices and drafts on the phone, queue orders and queries made offline, and sync when a signal returns. Downloads are kept small because data is expensive in rural areas.

Can farmers use it without reading well?

We add voice prompts, large pictorial icons and short flows in Urdu or a regional language. Agents or family members can also place orders on a farmer's behalf through an assisted mode.

Where would price and weather data come from?

From market committees, public weather services or commercial providers, depending on your region. We integrate the source, label it clearly and show when it was last updated.

Can you build a marketplace for produce?

Yes. We have built an agricultural marketplace before and understand listing, grading, offer and delivery flows. Our Kamiyab Kisaan project is a relevant example.
