iOS AppDevelopment

An iOS-first app is the right call when your customers carry iPhones and you want the best of Apple's hardware, design language and review standards.

iOS App Development: what the work involves

Native iOS development uses Swift and SwiftUI to build apps that feel exactly like Apple's own, with immediate access to every new system capability, from widgets and Live Activities to HealthKit and Apple Pay. The business case is strongest in markets and segments where iPhone share is high, such as the US, Australia and affluent urban customers in Pakistan.

DevKey builds iOS apps with a SwiftUI interface, a clean modular architecture and a Swift concurrency-based data layer. We manage the Apple side of the process: certificates, TestFlight beta distribution, privacy declarations and App Store review preparation. Where an Android version follows, we align the backend and design so both apps behave consistently without sharing code.

What we build

Core features

01

SwiftUI interfaces and HIG alignment

Screens that follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, with Dynamic Type, dark mode and accessibility support from the first build.

02

Apple platform integrations

Apple Pay, Sign in with Apple, push notifications, widgets, Live Activities and HealthKit wired in using native frameworks.

03

iPad and multi-device layouts

Adaptive layouts for iPhone and iPad, including split views, so the app uses larger screens properly where your users need them.

04

Data, sync and offline

SwiftData or Core Data for local storage, background refresh, and conflict-aware syncing with your Node.js or Firebase back end.

05

TestFlight and App Store release

Beta builds for testers, privacy nutrition labels, screenshots, metadata and handling of review questions until approval.

06

Version and OS maintenance

Updates for each new iOS release, deprecation fixes and crash monitoring so the app does not break after an annual Apple update.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

App Store review and policy

Apple enforces rules on payments, account deletion, privacy and user-generated content. We design for these upfront, since rejections late in the project cost weeks.

In-app purchase rules

Digital goods must generally use Apple's billing with its commission, while physical goods and services use other payment methods. We map your model to the correct flow.

Android audience and a second build

A native iOS app reaches only iPhone users, and Android dominates local Pakistani market share. If you need both, compare the cost of two native apps with a shared codebase.

iOS App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

When should we choose native iOS over cross-platform?

When your audience is mostly on iPhone, or you rely on the latest Apple features, deep device integration or top-tier performance. If you need both platforms quickly on a limited budget, cross-platform is often wiser.

Do you handle the App Store submission?

Yes. We prepare the build, privacy details, screenshots and metadata, submit through App Store Connect and respond to reviewer feedback. The developer account stays in your company's name.

Can you support older iPhones?

We set a minimum iOS version based on your audience data and the features required. Supporting several older versions adds testing effort, so we agree a sensible floor at the start.

Can an existing iOS app be updated, not rebuilt?

Often. After an audit of the code, dependencies and architecture we can modernise it incrementally, migrating screens to SwiftUI and fixing issues without a full rewrite.
