React Native AppDevelopment

React Native uses real native components driven by JavaScript, so web-minded teams can ship mobile apps that look and feel native on each platform.

React Native App Development: what the work involves

React Native lets a team write app logic in TypeScript and render genuine native views on iOS and Android. The business appeal is reuse of skills and code: if you already have React developers or a web product, they can contribute, and logic such as validation, API clients and state can be shared with the website.

DevKey builds React Native apps with the current architecture and Expo tooling where suitable, TypeScript throughout and a clear separation of data, state and UI. We use native modules for hardware-heavy features, over-the-air updates for small fixes where store rules allow, and test on real mid-range Android hardware. The result is a maintainable app with a release pipeline the client can inherit.

What we build

Core features

01

TypeScript architecture

Strict typing, a clear feature-based structure and shared types with the backend so mistakes are caught at build time, not in the field.

02

Native-feeling navigation and UI

Platform-appropriate gestures, transitions and controls through native stacks, so the app behaves as users expect on each OS.

03

Expo and custom native modules

Fast development with Expo tooling, falling back to custom native modules in Swift and Kotlin when a library cannot do the job.

04

Offline data and state

Local storage, request caching and sync queues so the app tolerates weak networks, with predictable state management across screens.

05

Over-the-air updates

Delivering JavaScript fixes between store releases where policy allows, with staged rollout and the ability to roll back quickly.

06

Quality, monitoring and releases

Unit and end-to-end tests, performance profiling on budget phones, Sentry crash reporting and automated builds for both stores.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Bridge and performance limits

Heavy animation, long lists and intensive computation need care. The newer architecture helps, but we profile early and move hot paths to native code where needed.

Dependency churn

The ecosystem moves quickly, and libraries can lag behind new React Native versions. We pin versions, vet packages and schedule regular upgrades instead of letting them pile up.

Store rules for live updates

Over-the-air updates must not change an app's core purpose or bypass review. We keep them to fixes and content, staying inside Apple and Google policy.

React Native App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can we reuse code from our React website?

Business logic, API clients, validation and types can be shared. The interface components differ because mobile uses native views rather than HTML, so expect to rebuild screens while reusing the logic beneath them.

Is React Native fast enough?

For most business apps, yes. Lists, forms and commerce flows perform well when built properly. Graphics-intensive features such as games or real-time video effects may call for native code or another engine.

What is Expo and do we need it?

Expo is a toolset that speeds up building, testing and releasing React Native apps. It suits most projects, and we can add custom native code when something falls outside what it supports.

Who owns the code and accounts?

You do. The repository, the Apple and Google developer accounts and the cloud services remain in your name, and we document the setup so another team could maintain it.
