Internal LinkingOptimization
Internal links are the one ranking lever fully under your control. We map how authority and attention move through your site and redirect it to the pages that matter.
Internal Linking Optimization: what the work involves
Many sites treat internal linking as an afterthought: a main menu, a footer and whatever links an author remembered to add. The consequence is orphaned pages that no link reaches, important service or product pages buried many clicks deep, and link equity pooled on a few pages like the home page and a popular old post. Search engines use internal links to discover pages, understand how topics relate and judge which pages matter, so a weak internal structure suppresses otherwise good content.
We crawl your site and calculate how many clicks each page sits from the home page, how many internal links point to it and what anchor text describes it. Comparing that map with your commercial priorities shows the mismatches. We then design a linking plan: contextual links inside content, related-content modules, hub pages and navigation changes, with descriptive anchors written for readers. Implementation can be manual or templated, and Next.js components can generate suggestions automatically from your content relationships.
Core features
Link graph analysis
A crawl-based map of click depth, inbound internal link counts and orphaned pages, ranked against the pages that matter commercially.
Contextual link plan
Specific link insertions from relevant articles to priority pages, supplied with suggested anchors and the paragraph where each belongs.
Anchor text review
Descriptive, varied anchors replacing vague phrases such as click here, so both users and crawlers understand the destination.
Navigation and hub design
Menu, breadcrumb and hub-page changes that bring key sections closer to the surface and group related content for easier discovery.
Related content modules
Rules-based or data-driven modules that suggest genuinely related items, built into the template so every new page gets links automatically.
Link health monitoring
Ongoing checks for broken internal links, redirect chains and links to noindexed pages that waste attention.
What we get right before launch
More links are not better links
Hundreds of links on one page dilute each and bury the useful ones. Relevance and placement matter more than volume, so we prioritise sparing, meaningful connections.
Navigation links carry less context
Sitewide menu and footer links are discounted compared with editorial links inside body text. Important pages need contextual links too, not only a menu entry.
JavaScript-only links
Links built with click handlers instead of real anchor elements with an href can be missed by crawlers. We verify that links exist in rendered HTML.

Common questions, answered
How many internal links should a page have?
There is no magic number. Include as many as are useful to a reader and no more. We focus on whether important pages receive relevant links from related content, not on hitting a count.
Can internal linking improve rankings by itself?
It can help pages that were poorly connected, since it improves discovery and signals importance. Results vary, and it works best alongside strong content. We cannot promise a particular movement.
What are orphan pages and why do they matter?
Orphan pages have no internal links pointing to them, so crawlers and users struggle to find them. They are often forgotten content, which we either link to properly, merge or remove.
Do you add the links yourselves?
Yes, if we have CMS or code access, otherwise we supply an exact list of edits for your team. On Next.js sites we can build reusable components so linking scales without manual effort.

All SEO servicesSite Architecture Optimization
Architecture decides which pages can rank at all. We reshape your hierarchy around how people search and how crawlers travel.
Topic Cluster Strategy
Isolated posts rarely build authority. We plan content as connected clusters so each subject has depth, a clear central page and a logical reading path.
Crawl Budget Optimization
Crawl budget matters only on large sites, and there it matters a lot. We use server data to see where crawlers spend their visits and stop the waste.
