SEO ReportingServices

A good SEO report tells you what moved, why it probably moved and what to do next. We build reporting that does that without drowning you in charts.

SEO Reporting Services: what the work involves

SEO reports tend to fail in one of two ways. Some are screenshots of tool dashboards with rankings for a handful of flattering keywords and no connection to business results. Others are exhaustive spreadsheets that nobody reads. Either way, leadership cannot tell whether the work is paying off, and the team cannot learn from its own results. The underlying data is usually fine; the problem is selection, context and the absence of any honest interpretation.

We start by agreeing which outcomes matter to your business, such as enquiries, orders or calls, and tie organic landing pages to them in GA4. Then we build a Looker Studio dashboard that pulls from Search Console, GA4 and, where used, rank trackers, so figures refresh automatically. A short written commentary accompanies each period, explaining notable changes, seasonality, work completed and what we plan next. Where the data cannot prove something, the commentary says so instead of claiming credit.

What we build

Core features

01

Goal and conversion mapping

Defining organic conversions in GA4 so reports link search visits to enquiries, sales or calls, not just sessions.

02

Automated dashboards

Looker Studio views connected to live data sources, so figures are current and nobody rebuilds a spreadsheet each month.

03

Narrative commentary

A written explanation of what changed, probable causes, completed work and next steps, readable by someone who is not an SEO.

04

Segmented views

Performance split by brand versus non-brand queries, page type, country and device, which shows where growth is truly occurring.

05

Leading and lagging indicators

Impressions, indexation and visibility alongside clicks and conversions, so early progress is visible long before revenue effects.

06

Technical health tracking

Recurring checks on errors, Core Web Vitals and indexing, reported as trends rather than a one-off audit.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Attribution is imperfect

Organic search often assists a sale that closes through another channel. Reports should show assisted value honestly rather than overclaim last-click success.

Vanity metrics mislead

A rise in total keywords ranked or domain scores may mean nothing for the business. We report metrics that connect to outcomes, and explain any index figures included.

Data quality limits conclusions

Consent banners, blocked trackers and misconfigured events make analytics undercount. We state known gaps in the report so decisions are not made on false precision.

SEO Reporting Services FAQ

Common questions, answered

What should an SEO report contain?

Outcomes tied to business goals, organic visibility trends, a summary of work done, notable changes with explanations and next steps. Everything else belongs in an appendix or dashboard, not the main report.

How often should we report?

Monthly suits most businesses, with a quarterly strategic review. SEO moves slowly, so weekly reports mostly show noise. Large or fast-moving sites may justify more frequent monitoring of technical health.

Can you build reports for our own team to use?

Yes. We can set up dashboards in Looker Studio that your staff maintain themselves, and train them to read the data. You own the dashboards and the connections to your accounts.

Will reports show guaranteed rankings?

No. We report what happened and why we think it did, including declines. Reports that only celebrate wins are not useful, and positions fluctuate for reasons outside anyone's control.
