Bakery WebsiteDevelopment

A bakery site that sells the display case and takes custom cake orders properly, with lead times, deposits and pickup slots instead of back-and-forth DMs.

Bakery Website Development: what the work involves

A bakery has two businesses sharing one counter. Ready-made items such as brownies, loaves and boxed pastries sell on impulse, while celebration cakes are planned days ahead and depend on flavour, tiers, a message on top and a delivery time the family cannot miss. When cake orders arrive through Instagram messages, the details get lost, photos of reference designs pile up, and the baker finds out about an allergy at the last minute.

We split the site along that line. Ready items get a normal cart with same-day cut-off times. Custom cakes get a guided builder: size by servings, flavour, filling, inscription, reference image upload, and a calendar that blocks dates when your oven is already full. Each order becomes a production ticket with the decoration notes and the pickup or delivery window. Launch includes your photography direction, because cakes sell on pictures first.

What we build

Core features

01

Custom cake builder

Guided steps capture servings, flavour, filling, colours, inscription and a reference photo, then show the baker one clean order sheet.

02

Capacity calendar

Dates close automatically once your daily cake limit is reached, and rush-order days can be flagged with a fee you define.

03

Lead-time rules per product

A fondant cake needs more notice than a tray of cupcakes, and each product enforces its own minimum days.

04

Allergen and dietary labels

Nuts, eggless and sugar-free options are filterable and printed on the order ticket for the kitchen.

05

Pickup or local delivery

Customers choose an outlet with a pickup time, or enter a delivery area with a courier fee and a fragile-item note.

06

Gallery that sells

A tagged portfolio of past cakes by occasion lets visitors save designs and send them straight into the builder as a reference.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Deposits for large orders

Wedding and bulk orders need a deposit to protect you from cancellations. We support bank transfer proof upload as well as online payment.

Photography and weight

Heavy image galleries slow phones. We compress and lazy-load images so the site stays quick without looking flat.

Seasonal spikes

Eid, Valentine's and Ramadan boxes create sudden demand, so we design pause switches and per-day order caps before the rush hits.

Bakery Website Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can customers upload a reference design?

Yes. The builder accepts one or more images and a short note, and these travel with the order to your production ticket so the decorator sees exactly what the customer imagined.

How do we stop overbooking the oven?

You set a daily limit for custom cakes, and optionally a weight or complexity score. When a date reaches the limit it greys out for new customers, while you can still add orders manually.

Do we need a payment gateway on day one?

No. Many bakeries start with cash at pickup plus bank transfer or JazzCash confirmation, then add a card gateway later. We structure the checkout so adding it does not mean rebuilding.

Can we update the menu ourselves?

Yes. You get a simple admin for products, flavours and prices, plus the ability to mark items sold out for the day without a developer.
