Courier Tracking WebsiteDevelopment

A courier website where customers can book a pickup, estimate a rate and follow a parcel without calling your support line every hour.

Courier Tracking Website Development: what the work involves

For a courier company, most inbound contact is the same question asked a thousand ways: where is my parcel. Support agents spend their day reading status codes out loud, merchants chase their cash-on-delivery balances, and a new customer cannot easily tell what a document or a five-kilogram box will cost to send across cities. A website that answers these three questions without human help lowers the load on every phone line.

We build the tracking page first, since it is the most visited screen. A consignment number returns a readable timeline with scan events translated into plain language, plus the expected next step. Next comes the rate calculator based on weight, service type and city pair, and then pickup booking with address capture. For merchants, a dashboard lists shipments, failed delivery reasons and COD amounts awaiting remittance.

What we build

Core features

01

Plain-language tracking timeline

Scan events become statements such as arrived at sorting centre or out with rider, with timestamps and the next expected step.

02

Rate calculator

Customers choose origin, destination, weight and service speed to see an estimate from your own tariff table, with volumetric weight handled.

03

Pickup booking

Senders enter addresses and a time window, and the request reaches the dispatcher with a map pin to assign the nearest rider.

04

Merchant dashboard

E-commerce sellers upload bulk bookings, print airway bill labels and view delivery outcomes in one place.

05

COD remittance statements

Merchants see which cash collections are settled, pending or held, with a downloadable statement per period.

06

Failed delivery handling

Receivers can reschedule or update an address from the tracking page, which cuts re-attempts and rider wasted trips.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Tracking data feed

The page is only as accurate as the scans behind it. We connect to your operations system or a defined import and show a clear last-updated time.

Peak-load traffic

Tracking traffic spikes after sale events and Eid. We use caching and rate limiting so the page stays responsive and cannot be scraped endlessly.

Privacy of consignment data

A consignment number should not reveal a receiver's full address or phone. We mask sensitive fields on the public view and show them only to the verified owner.

Courier Tracking Website Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can we integrate with our existing tracking system?

Usually, provided it exposes an API, database view or regular export. We confirm what is available in discovery. If scans only live in a desktop tool, a small sync service can publish them to the website.

Can merchants book in bulk?

Yes, through a spreadsheet upload that validates cities, phone numbers and COD amounts before creating shipments, then returns a batch of printable labels.

Does it send SMS or WhatsApp updates?

It can trigger notifications at chosen milestones through an SMS or WhatsApp provider. Message approval and sender registration are handled by the provider, so we plan them early because they take time.

Is the tracking page secure?

We limit lookups per visitor, mask personal details and avoid exposing sequential numbers that could be guessed. Full details appear only after a verified login or a code sent to the receiver.
