Government PortalDevelopment

A public portal is judged on whether an ordinary citizen can finish a task without visiting an office. Clarity, accessibility and traceability come first.

Government Portal Development: what the work involves

Citizens approach government websites with a goal: apply for a licence, pay a fee, check a case, file a complaint. Their experience is often a maze of departments, scanned notices and forms that must be printed. Each unnecessary visit to an office costs the citizen a day and invites informal payments, and each paper file costs the department staff time and risks loss. A well-built portal replaces that with a defined online path and a status the applicant can check without asking anybody.

We start by mapping a single service end to end: eligibility, required documents, fee, approvals and outcome. Each becomes a workflow with defined states, assigned officers, deadlines and notifications to the applicant. Forms are accessible and work on mobile, with Urdu and English. Role-based access and audit logs record who did what and when. We design for the realities of public procurement: documented requirements, security testing, hosting that meets the department's policy and clear handover documentation for the staff who will run it.

What we build

Core features

01

Service catalogue and eligibility

Each service explains who can apply, what documents are required, how long it takes and what the process looks like before an application starts.

02

Online applications with tracking

Applicants submit forms and documents, receive a reference number and follow progress through defined stages.

03

Officer workflow and deadlines

Cases route to the responsible officer with deadlines and escalation, so delays are visible to managers and not hidden in a file.

04

Complaint and grievance system

Citizens register issues with evidence, receive acknowledgement and status updates, and managers see statistics by category and office.

05

Tenders, notices and open data

Public tenders, circulars and datasets are published in searchable, dated lists in open formats for transparency.

06

Audit trail and reporting

Every action is recorded with user and time, and management dashboards summarise volumes, turnaround and pending cases.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Security and data protection

Portals hold identity and financial data. We apply strong authentication for staff, encrypted storage, regular testing and follow the data-handling policy of the department.

Accessibility and inclusion

Citizens may use basic phones, low bandwidth, assistive technology or Urdu only. We design to accessibility guidelines and test on modest devices.

Procurement and handover

Government projects need documentation, training and a maintainable architecture. We write handover material and avoid dependencies that lock the department to one vendor.

Government Portal Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can the portal integrate with existing government databases?

Where an API, database view or file exchange is provided and permitted, yes. Access to systems such as NADRA or revenue records requires formal approval from their owners, which we cannot arrange for you.

How do you handle citizen identity?

Accounts can be verified by mobile number and, where authorised, by national ID checks through the approved channel. We keep identity data minimal and encrypted, and log every access.

Can it be hosted in Pakistan?

That depends on the department's policy and available infrastructure. We can deploy to local hosting or a compliant cloud region and document the choice and its implications.

What drives the size of a government portal project?

The number of services, the number of officer roles, integrations and the approvals required. Starting with one high-volume service and expanding is usually more successful than launching everything together.
