News Portal Development: what the work involves
News traffic is spiky, mobile and impatient. A story breaks, links spread through social platforms and thousands of readers arrive in minutes on mid-range phones, many with limited data. If the page is slow, bloated with ads or shifts as it loads, they leave. Behind the scenes, the newsroom has its own pressure: reporters filing from the field, sub-editors checking facts, a breaking-news banner that must go live at once, and corrections that need to be visible and dated.
We build the portal around an editorial workflow: reporters draft, editors review, and publishing is scheduled or immediate, with roles and revision history. Articles are structured with headline, summary, byline, category, tags and media, supporting both English and Urdu with correct right-to-left typography. Pages are statically generated and cached at the edge so a traffic surge does not slow them, while ad slots are reserved in the layout to prevent shifting. Structured article data and a news sitemap prepare the site for Google News and search.

Can we move our existing archive across?
