Software for Bahawalpur's Cotton Ginning Factories

A ginning factory turns seed cotton into lint, seed and bales in one season. We build the intake, outturn and bale records that make that season easier to run and audit.

The trade, and what it needs from software

Southern Punjab is cotton country, and Bahawalpur's ginning factories take in seed cotton from growers and middlemen, run it through gins and press the resulting lint into bales for spinning mills. Cottonseed is a second product with its own buyers. The season is concentrated into a few busy months, during which trucks queue at the gate and money changes hands constantly.

Each lot arrives with a different moisture content, trash level and grower, and the factory must keep that straight while the machines run. DevKey Technologies builds software remotely from Islamabad to track purchase, outturn and sale in one flow, replacing the gate register, the loose weighbridge slips and the separate ledgers that most mills still keep.

How it runs

How the work flows in Bahawalpur

01

Receiving seed cotton at the gate

Loads are weighed, sampled and priced according to quality. The gate record is the starting point for everything that follows, including payment to the grower.

02

Ginning and pressing

Seed cotton passes through the gins, separating lint from seed, and the lint is pressed into bales. Yield from each lot depends on its quality and on how well the machines are running.

03

Selling bales and cottonseed

Bales go to spinning mills and traders, and seed to oil extractors and feed buyers. Quantities, grades and payment terms vary with each deal.

Common problems

Where things go wrong today

Lot identity lost inside the plant

Once seed cotton is mixed into the process, it becomes hard to connect a finished bale to the growers' lots it came from, which matters when yield looks wrong.

Growers and brokers paid through a tangle

Advances, deductions and balances across many suppliers are kept in separate books, and settling at season end is slow and disputed.

Yield variation nobody can explain

Outturn differs between shifts and machines, but with no consistent record the factory cannot tell whether the cause is quality, equipment or handling.

Bales and stock counted by hand

Bale numbers, weights and grades are written down and later checked physically, with discrepancies found only at dispatch.

What we build

Software that fixes it

A factory system from gate to dispatch

A manufacturing ERP follows each lot from the weighbridge through ginning to numbered bales and sale, so outturn can be compared with intake without manual cross-checking.

Manufacturing ERP Development

Grower and broker accounts

Accounting software keeps advances, purchases and payments per supplier in one ledger and prints a clear statement at settlement time.

Accounting Software Development

Bale and seed stock control

Inventory management software gives every bale its own number, weight and grade, and keeps cottonseed quantities current as sales leave the yard.

Inventory Management Software Development

Management reporting through the season

Business intelligence dashboards show daily intake, outturn and receivables, so the owner sees trends while the season is still running and can still act on them.

Bahawalpur FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can it connect to the weighbridge?

Depending on the weighbridge model, we can often capture weights directly or provide a fast manual entry screen that avoids retyping slips. We confirm the options after reviewing your equipment.

Our season is short. Is there time to adopt a new system?

That is why we plan the rollout before the season starts and test with real gate scenarios. We avoid switching systems in the middle of the busiest weeks.

Can growers see their own balance?

A portal or a shared statement can be set up so a grower checks purchases and payments without visiting the office, reducing disputes over what was agreed.

Will we depend on you for everything afterwards?

No. You own your data, and we document the system. We offer ongoing support, but you are not locked in.
