Contract AnalysisAutomation

Turn a shared drive of signed agreements into a structured register of obligations, renewals and risk clauses that you can actually search and report on.

Contract Analysis Automation: what the work involves

Most businesses cannot say, without a week of digging, which supplier contracts auto-renew next quarter or which customer agreements cap liability below what the sales team promised. The answers sit in PDFs named final_v3, signed by people who have left. Missed notice windows quietly renew bad terms, and every audit becomes a scramble through folders.

DevKey builds a contract register on top of what you already hold. Agreements are collected from drives, email attachments or a CLM, converted to clean text, then read by a model that extracts the fields you care about: counterparty, effective and end dates, notice periods, payment terms, liability caps, termination triggers. Each value is stored with the clause it came from. Alerts fire ahead of renewal dates, and a reviewer queue handles anything the model is unsure about.

What we build

Core features

01

Field extraction with source links

Dates, parties, amounts and notice terms land in a table, and clicking any cell opens the original clause highlighted in the document.

02

Clause library comparison

Your preferred wording for indemnity, confidentiality or governing law is stored, and each incoming contract is compared against it to show deviations.

03

Renewal and notice calendar

Computed deadlines feed reminders to the right owner, with enough lead time to renegotiate or serve notice.

04

Risk tagging rules

Unlimited liability, unilateral termination, exclusivity and unusual jurisdiction clauses are tagged using criteria your legal lead approves.

05

Amendment and version tracking

Side letters and addenda are linked to the master agreement so the register reflects the terms currently in force, not just the original.

06

Portfolio questions in plain language

Ask which agreements allow assignment without consent and get a list with citations, rather than a paragraph you cannot verify.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Extraction is not interpretation

A model can read that notice must be given sixty days before expiry; deciding whether a clause is enforceable is legal work. The interface says what was found and leaves conclusions to counsel.

Messy inputs

Scanned signature pages, bilingual agreements and tracked-change drafts cause errors. We measure field accuracy on your real files and keep a human check on high-value or low-confidence contracts.

Date arithmetic must be exact

Renewal logic depends on rules such as business days and deemed notice. We encode calculations in tested code instead of letting the model do the maths, and show the working so owners can verify.

Contract Analysis Automation FAQ

Common questions, answered

How many contracts do we need before this is worthwhile?

There is no fixed number. If you cannot quickly answer renewal and liability questions, or audits cost real staff time, a register pays off. Even a few dozen agreements with tight notice periods can justify it.

Can it connect to our existing storage?

Usually yes. We pull from Google Drive, SharePoint, email mailboxes or a CLM through their APIs, and write results back to a database, spreadsheet or your ERP if needed.

What happens when the model is unsure of a value?

Low-confidence fields are held in a review queue with the clause shown beside the guess. A person confirms or edits it, and only then does it enter the register and trigger alerts.

Does it work on Urdu or mixed-language agreements?

English-language agreements work best. Urdu or bilingual text can be handled but needs testing on your documents first, and we tell you honestly which fields remain unreliable.

Is it legal advice?

No. It organises and surfaces what your contracts say. Interpretation, negotiation and risk decisions remain with your lawyers or accountable managers.
