Field Service Management SoftwareDevelopment

Dispatch technicians to the right job with the right parts, capture the work and the customer signature on site, and invoice the same day.

Field Service Management Software Development: what the work involves

Field service businesses, such as AC repair, solar installation, appliance servicing and utility maintenance, run on coordination. Calls arrive by phone, a dispatcher assigns a technician by memory of who is nearby, the technician arrives without the right part, and the job card is handed in days later. Customers wait, repeat visits eat margin, and billing waits for paperwork that is still in someone's bag.

We build field service around the job, the customer site and the technician's day. Requests from calls, a website or WhatsApp become jobs with address, equipment and priority; the dispatcher assigns by skill, location and availability; the technician's phone shows the schedule, site history and checklist, and captures photos, parts used and a customer signature. The app works offline and syncs later. Finished jobs generate an invoice or service report, and warranty and contract visits are tracked automatically.

What we build

Core features

01

Job intake and dispatch board

Calls and web requests become jobs, shown on a map or calendar and assigned by skill, area and availability.

02

Technician mobile app

Schedule, directions, customer and equipment history, checklists, photos and notes in a mobile interface that works offline.

03

Parts and van stock

Parts issued to each technician's vehicle stock, deducted when used on a job, with replenishment requests when low.

04

On-site quotes and invoicing

Technicians price extra work, take customer approval and signature, and trigger an invoice or collect payment on the spot.

05

Contracts and warranty visits

Recurring service contracts generate scheduled visits, and warranty status shows on the job so billing is correct.

06

Customer updates and feedback

Arrival time messages, completion summaries and short feedback requests go to customers, with results reported per technician.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Offline reliability

Basements and rural sites lose signal. Job data must be stored on the device, signatures and photos queued, and sync conflicts handled so a technician never loses a completed job.

Technician tracking sensitivity

Location tracking helps dispatch but raises privacy concerns. We limit tracking to working hours, tell technicians what is recorded, and restrict who can view movement history.

First-visit fix rate

Return visits cost margin. We capture the fault, parts used and outcome in structured fields, so you can see which job types need different parts or more experienced technicians.

Field Service Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Does the technician app work without signal?

Yes. Jobs, checklists and customer details are cached on the phone, completed work is stored locally with photos and signatures, and everything uploads when a connection returns. We test this deliberately by switching off the network.

Is it a native app or a web app?

We usually start with an installable progressive web app, which suits many service businesses. If you need background location, deep hardware access or app store presence, we can build a native mobile app instead.

Can customers receive updates?

Yes. Booking confirmation, technician on the way and job completion messages can go by SMS or WhatsApp. WhatsApp templates must be approved by Meta, and we guide you through that during setup.

Can it handle recurring service contracts?

Yes. A contract defines visit frequency, scope and site equipment. The system generates the visits ahead of time, assigns them, and records completion so you can show a customer that contracted services were delivered.
