Poultry Farm Management SoftwareDevelopment

Every flock tracked from chick placement to sale, so a poultry farm sees feed, losses and profit per shed and per cycle.

Poultry Farm Management Software Development: what the work involves

A poultry business runs on cycles. Chicks arrive, are fed, vaccinated and weighed over several weeks, and are sold in a short window where price decides everything. Farmers who keep notes on paper find it hard to know how much feed a flock really consumed, why mortality rose in week three, or whether a cycle made money after medicine, labour and electricity. Decisions are made on memory and rumour.

DevKey builds poultry software around the flock and the shed. Daily entries capture mortality, feed, water and weight, from which the system derives feed conversion and a growth curve to compare against your target. Vaccination and medication schedules generate reminders, expenses attach to the cycle, and sales to dealers or markets close it with a profit statement. Staff can record from a phone on the farm.

What we build

Core features

01

Flock and shed cycles

Each placement opens a cycle with chick source, count and shed, and everything recorded afterwards belongs to that cycle.

02

Daily mortality, feed and weight

A quick mobile form captures the day's figures, and charts compare growth and losses against the target curve for that breed.

03

Feed conversion and cost tracking

Feed stock and purchases are drawn down per shed, producing conversion ratio and cost per bird as the cycle unfolds.

04

Vaccination and medication plan

A schedule of vaccines and treatments by flock age creates reminders and records who administered what and when.

05

Egg production for layers

Daily collection, grading and breakage figures show laying percentage and help plan sales for layer and breeder flocks.

06

Cycle profit and dealer accounts

Sales, receivables from dealers and all cycle expenses combine into a profit statement the day the shed is cleared.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Poor connectivity on the farm

Sheds are often outside reliable coverage. The mobile entry form saves locally and syncs when a signal appears, so records are never skipped for lack of internet.

Data you can trust

Figures are only useful if staff enter them honestly. We keep an audit trail of edits and flag values that look implausible, such as a sudden jump in weight.

Price swings at sale time

Rates move daily. We record the rate and weight on every sale so margin is computed on what was actually received rather than a blended average.

Poultry Farm Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can my farm manager enter data from a phone?

Yes. The entry form is built for small screens and works with limited signal, saving locally and syncing later. You see the day's mortality and feed figures without waiting for the manager to call.

Does it calculate feed conversion ratio?

Yes. It divides feed consumed by weight gained for each shed and cycle, and shows the trend as the flock grows, so you can spot a poorly performing shed well before the cycle ends.

Can it manage contract farming arrangements?

It can. A company that supplies chicks and feed to contract growers can track inputs issued, performance per grower and settlement at cycle end using the terms you agree with each farmer.

Can we start with one shed and add more?

Yes. Sheds, farms and flocks are records you can add whenever you expand. Reports roll up across everything, and you can still view each shed or farm by itself.
