Dairy Farm Management SoftwareDevelopment

Animal-by-animal milk, breeding and health records, with milk sales and costs reconciled so a dairy farm knows what each cow earns.

Dairy Farm Management Software Development: what the work involves

A dairy herd is a set of individual animals, each with a lactation, a breeding history, a health record and a feed cost. Keeping this in a notebook means a missed heat, a forgotten vaccination or a cow that quietly loses money for months. On the sales side, milk goes to households, shops and collection centres, and daily quantities and payments become hard to match at month end.

DevKey builds dairy software around the animal and the day. Each animal has a tag, parentage, calving and insemination dates, and a health timeline. Milking sessions record yield per animal or per group, and the system raises reminders for heat windows, dry-off, vaccinations and deworming. A sales module tracks daily deliveries to customers and their payments, so the owner sees milk produced, sold and still owed.

What we build

Core features

01

Animal register and lineage

Tag, breed, date of birth, parentage, purchase details and status for every animal, with a full event history per head.

02

Milk yield recording

Morning and evening yields are logged per animal or per pen, with trends that point to cows that are drying early or falling ill.

03

Breeding and calving calendar

Heat, insemination, pregnancy checks and expected calving dates are tracked, with reminders so no breeding window is missed.

04

Health and vaccination records

Treatments, vet visits, withdrawal periods after medication and vaccine schedules stay attached to each animal.

05

Feed and cost per animal

Fodder and concentrate usage is allocated across groups, giving a rough but useful cost of each litre against its sale value.

06

Customer delivery and payments

Daily milk delivered to each customer, rates, advance payments and month-end statements are recorded in one place.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Identifying animals reliably

Records are only as good as the tags. We support ear-tag numbers and optional barcode or RFID scanning where your farm already uses them, rather than forcing new hardware.

Milk withdrawal after treatment

Milk from treated animals cannot be sold for a period. We flag withdrawal windows so that milk is separated before it reaches a customer.

Milking-time data entry

Staff are busy and hands are dirty. Entry screens use large inputs and defaults, and can accept a batch of figures after the session if that is how your farm works.

Dairy Farm Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can it track each animal individually?

Yes. Every cow or buffalo has her own record covering yield, breeding, health and cost. You can also record yield per group when milking each animal separately is not practical on your farm.

Will it remind us about vaccinations and heat?

Yes. Schedules for vaccines, deworming, insemination and pregnancy checks generate reminders on the dashboard and, if you choose, by message, so the farm manager works from a daily task list.

Can we manage milk sales to many customers?

Yes. Each customer has a daily quantity, rate and balance. Delivery entries produce statements and payment reminders, and totals reconcile with the milk produced so shrinkage or home use is visible.

Does it work without internet at the farm?

A mobile or desktop build can record entries offline and sync later. This is the usual setup for farms with weak signal, and nothing is lost if the connection drops during milking.
