Auto Service AppDevelopment

Vehicle owners forget services and distrust surprise bills. A workshop app shows what was done, what it cost and when the next visit is due.

Auto Service App Development: what the work involves

An auto service app connects vehicle owners with garages, dealer workshops and mechanics. The business problem on the workshop side is lost repeat business: customers drift away because nobody reminds them, and verbal estimates cause arguments. For owners, the problem is trust, since they cannot easily tell whether a repair was needed or fairly priced.

DevKey builds an owner app that stores each vehicle, books service slots and keeps a history of repairs, parts and invoices. A workshop app creates job cards with photos, sends estimates for approval and updates progress until pickup. For multi-branch dealers a backend in Node.js and PostgreSQL tracks parts, technicians and bay workload, and drives reminders based on mileage or date.

What we build

Core features

01

Vehicle garage and history

Each owner saves cars or bikes with registration, mileage and photos, building a service record that stays with them.

02

Service booking and pickup

Choose a service, branch and slot, and optionally request pickup and drop, with status updates through the repair.

03

Digital job cards and estimates

Technicians log faults and photos, create line-item estimates and send them for approval before any extra work begins.

04

Service reminders

Notifications based on date or kilometres for oil, tyres, insurance renewal and fitness checks, bringing customers back at the right time.

05

Parts and stock tracking

Workshop-side tracking of spare parts used per job, low-stock alerts and supplier references, linked to the invoice.

06

Invoices, payments and feedback

Itemised invoices, payment by card or wallet or cash at counter, warranty notes and a quick rating after collection.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Estimate approval and disputes

Extra work discovered mid-repair is the biggest source of conflict. We build explicit approval steps with photos and timestamps so both sides have a record.

Accuracy of reminders

Mileage entered by owners is often wrong. We combine date rules, last-service data and a mileage estimate so reminders arrive reasonably, not at random.

Fitting existing workshop habits

Mechanics are busy and may resist typing. Voice notes, photo capture and large buttons make the workshop app faster than the paper habit it replaces.

Auto Service App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can one app serve many workshops?

Yes. A marketplace model lets owners compare garages and book across them, while each workshop gets its own staff, pricing and reports. A single-brand version for a dealer chain is simpler.

Do customers approve repairs inside the app?

Yes. The workshop sends an estimate with photos and line items, the owner approves or declines, and the decision is stored with a timestamp. This reduces disagreements at pickup.

Can it handle motorbikes as well as cars?

Yes. Vehicle types, service schedules and parts catalogues differ, so we model each type separately. Many Pakistani workshops handle both, and the same customer app can hold either.

Can we link it to our existing workshop software?

Often. If your current system exposes an API or export, we can sync customers, parts and invoices. Otherwise our workshop app can replace it gradually, branch by branch.
