Language Learning AppDevelopment

A language app built around short daily practice, spoken answers and vocabulary that returns just before it is forgotten.

Language Learning App Development: what the work involves

Adults learn languages for a reason, such as an IELTS score, a job in the Gulf or a visa interview, but they rarely have an hour free. Apps that need long sessions are abandoned, and apps that only teach word lists leave learners unable to speak. Institutes with good classroom material have trouble turning it into something a student uses daily.

We build lessons as short loops of a few minutes: new words, a listening clip, a sentence to say aloud, a quick check. A spaced-repetition engine schedules each word for review when memory is about to fade. Speech recognition scores pronunciation, with honest feedback rather than flattery. Streaks, daily goals and reminders keep habit alive, and an instructor console lets your own course content be added in any language pair.

What we build

Core features

01

Spaced-repetition vocabulary

Each word returns for review on an adaptive schedule, so effort goes to what the learner is about to forget.

02

Speaking practice with feedback

Learners record a phrase and get pronunciation feedback, with a native audio sample to compare against.

03

Bite-sized lessons

Three-to-five-minute lessons that fit a commute, with a clear end point and a small reward.

04

Listening and reading drills

Short dialogues and passages with tap-to-translate, graded by level so material is neither too easy nor discouraging.

05

Streaks and daily goals

Goal setting, reminders at a chosen time and a streak that offers a freeze day for real life.

06

Placement test and levels

A quick placement finds the starting point, and progress maps to recognised levels such as CEFR bands.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Speech recognition across accents

Recognition engines favour certain accents and punish others, which discourages learners. We tune thresholds, test with local speakers and avoid presenting a score as precise.

Subscription structure

Free practice with paid depth is the common model. Trial, renewal and restore rules differ between stores, so we run billing through a managed service and test each state.

Multi-script rendering

Arabic, Chinese and Urdu scripts need correct fonts, direction and input. We test each script on old Android phones where rendering issues appear first.

Language Learning App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can the app teach any language pair?

The engine is language-agnostic, but each pair needs content: vocabulary, audio and exercises. We build the platform and an authoring console, and your team or editors supply and review the lessons.

How reliable is the pronunciation scoring?

It is a guide rather than a judge. Recognition engines are good at spotting clearly wrong sounds but vary with accent and microphone, so we word feedback carefully and let learners retry freely.

Does it work offline?

Lessons, audio and review queues can be downloaded, so vocabulary practice works without a connection. Speech scoring that relies on a cloud service needs internet, though a basic on-device check is sometimes possible.

Can an institute add classes and a teacher dashboard?

Yes. Teachers can create cohorts, assign lesson sets and see completion and weak vocabulary per student. That turns the app from a hobby tool into a companion to your course.
