Laundry AppDevelopment

People hand over clothes on trust. A laundry app earns it with scheduled pickups, item-level tracking and a clear promise of when everything returns.

Laundry App Development: what the work involves

A laundry app lets customers book a pickup, follow their garments through washing or dry cleaning, and receive them back at a chosen time. The business problem is operational: bags arrive in bulk, items are mixed up, and customers call repeatedly to ask where their suit is. Missing items and late deliveries destroy a service that depends on repeat orders.

DevKey builds a customer app, a rider app and a plant-side system. Orders capture items and services, produce tags or QR labels for each bag, and move through stages such as received, washing, pressing and ready. Riders get optimised pickup and delivery routes. The back office handles pricing by item, subscriptions for households and daily totals per branch.

What we build

Core features

01

Pickup and delivery slots

Customers choose a service type and time window, with capacity limits per slot and one-tap repeat orders for weekly regulars.

02

Item-wise pricing and bags

Price by garment, by weight or by bag, with special-care options for wedding wear and delicate fabrics clearly separated.

03

Tagging and stage tracking

QR tags generated at pickup and scanned at each stage, so staff and customers can see exactly where an order is.

04

Rider routing and proof

Rider assignment by area, route order, photo or signature at handover and notes for gate and floor details.

05

Wallet, subscriptions and invoices

Prepaid wallet, monthly household plans, cash on delivery and digital invoices with a record of each item processed.

06

Issue and claim handling

A simple flow to report a missing item or a stain with photos, routed to the manager so complaints are resolved with a record.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Item loss and mix-ups

The core trust risk is losing a customer's garment. Item counts at pickup, tags per bag and a scan at every handover create an audit trail that makes errors rare and traceable.

Peak-day capacity

Eid and wedding seasons overwhelm plants. Slot limits, order cut-offs and queue visibility prevent promises the operation cannot keep.

Rider location and privacy

Riders track routes through the day, and customers share home addresses. Location is captured only during active jobs, and addresses are shown to riders only when needed.

Laundry App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

How do customers know where their clothes are?

Each bag or item gets a QR tag that is scanned at pickup, washing, pressing and delivery. The customer app shows the current stage and sends a notification when the order is ready.

Can pricing be per item, weight or bag?

Yes, and often a mix. Dry cleaning is usually per garment, wash and fold per kilo and bulk bedding per bag. The pricing engine supports all of them in a single order.

Do we need our own delivery riders?

Not necessarily. The rider app works for your own staff or for contracted riders, and we can set per-job payouts. Tracking and proof of delivery are the same either way.

Can businesses like hotels have accounts?

Yes. Corporate accounts support recurring pickups, bulk counts, monthly invoicing and multiple contact persons, which suits hotels, clinics and hostels sending regular loads.
