Courier Delivery AppDevelopment
Parcel pickup, scanning, handover proof and cash reconciliation in one system that couriers and senders both find easy to use.
Courier Delivery App Development: what the work involves
A courier business sells trust in a parcel's journey. Senders want to know it was collected, customers want to know when it arrives, and the owner wants to know that the cash collected on delivery actually reaches the office. Handwritten receipts and phone updates cannot give any of the three, which is why disputes and lost parcels consume so many management hours.
We build a sender app for booking pickups, a field app for couriers and a back-office for hubs. Each parcel gets a tracking number and barcode, scanned at collection, hub arrival, dispatch and handover. Proof of delivery captures a signature or photo with location and time. Cash-on-delivery amounts are matched to remittances so merchants are paid accurately and on time.
Core features
Pickup booking
Senders enter parcel details, drop a pin and choose a time window, with the job pushed to the nearest available courier.
Barcode scanning
The phone camera scans parcel labels at each checkpoint, creating a tamper-resistant chain of custody without extra scanner hardware.
Proof of delivery
Signature, photo or OTP entry at handover, stamped with time and coordinates, plus a failed-attempt reason when no one is home.
COD remittance ledger
Cash collected per courier is reconciled against parcels, and merchant payouts are generated from confirmed deliveries only.
Public tracking page
Recipients follow a link showing parcel status, so they stop calling the dispatcher to ask where their order is.
Route and run sheets
Couriers get a sequenced list for the day, with navigation hand-off and the option to reorder stops as conditions change.
What we get right before launch
Offline operation at hubs
Warehouse basements and rural stops lose signal. The scanner flow queues events locally and syncs them in order once the phone reconnects.
Cash leakage
Money in transit is a theft and error risk. Daily handover counts, mismatch alerts and courier-level balances make leakage visible quickly.
Customer data handling
Names, phone numbers and addresses are personal data. Access is role-restricted, and recipient numbers can be masked from couriers once a delivery is complete.

Common questions, answered
Can parcels be scanned with a normal phone?
Yes. Modern phone cameras read barcodes and QR codes reliably, which avoids buying dedicated scanners. For very high-volume hubs, we can also support Bluetooth scanner guns.
Do you integrate with e-commerce stores?
We can expose an API or plugin so merchants create shipments directly from Shopify, WooCommerce or custom stores, and receive status updates and COD settlements automatically.
How are failed deliveries handled?
The courier selects a reason, such as customer unreachable or refused. The parcel returns to the hub queue for a re-attempt or return-to-sender, and the merchant sees the reason in their dashboard.
Is international shipping supported?
The core product handles domestic pickup and delivery. International legs usually rely on partner carriers, which we can integrate for rate lookup and tracking where those carriers offer an API.
