Truck Booking AppDevelopment
A freight marketplace app where shippers post loads, transporters quote, and both can follow the consignment without phone brokers.
Truck Booking App Development: what the work involves
Trucking in Pakistan still runs on brokers, phone calls and trust. A manufacturer needing a container moved calls an agent, who calls transporters, who call drivers, and every hop adds delay, margin and confusion about where the load is. Empty return trips are common because nobody sees available capacity at the right moment.
We build a load-and-capacity app for both sides. Shippers post origin, destination, cargo and date; verified transporters bid or accept a fixed rate; the winning truck and driver are assigned and tracked. Digital documents such as a goods receipt and delivery proof sit with the booking. A Node.js backend handles bidding rules, and the admin team verifies each transporter before they can see loads.
Core features
Load posting
Shippers enter pickup and drop points, cargo type, weight and vehicle class, optionally with photos, in a few steps.
Quote and bidding
Verified transporters submit offers, shippers compare them with ratings and vehicle details, and one is accepted into a booking.
Vehicle and driver assignment
The transporter attaches a registered truck and driver to each job, which is visible to the shipper for accountability.
Trip tracking
Position updates from the driver's phone or a tracker feed a status timeline from loading to arrival at the destination.
Digital freight documents
Goods receipts, weighbridge slips and signed delivery proofs are captured by camera and kept against the booking.
Return-load matching
A truck finishing in a city is shown nearby loads heading back its way, reducing empty miles for transporters.
What we get right before launch
Trust between strangers
Moving expensive cargo with an unknown trucker is a real risk. Transporter verification, vehicle documents and ratings lower it, but cannot remove it, so insurance guidance matters.
Payment and advances
Truckers expect an advance and the balance on delivery, often in cash. The booking must record both so disputes about what was paid are resolvable.
Low-connectivity highways
Long routes cross dead zones. The driver app caches the job and syncs updates later, and the status feed never falsely claims a truck has stopped.

Common questions, answered
Is this a brokerage or a marketplace?
It can be either. In a marketplace, shippers and transporters deal directly and you charge a fee. In a brokerage model your team sets rates and assigns trucks. The app supports both designs.
How are transporters verified?
During onboarding they submit CNIC, company registration where applicable and vehicle documents. Your staff review them in the admin console and approve before loads become visible.
Can shippers book by weight or full container?
Yes. Booking can be configured for full truckload, part load or container, with vehicle categories such as pickup, Shehzore, 10-wheeler or trailer matched to the cargo.
What about GPS tracking on rented trucks?
Where the truck has no tracker, the driver's phone provides tracking during an active job, with consent. Transporters with trackers can have their device feed integrated instead.
