Parking AppDevelopment

Drivers circling for a space waste time and fuel, and owners watch empty bays earn nothing. A parking app lines the two up before the car arrives.

Parking App Development: what the work involves

A parking app helps drivers find, reserve and pay for a space, and helps lot owners fill bays and collect fees without cash. The business problem differs by operator: malls and hospitals want smoother entry and less congestion, private lot owners want higher occupancy, and municipalities want collection that does not leak.

DevKey builds parking apps with a map view of lots, live availability fed by sensors, gate hardware or attendant entries, and reservations that hold a bay for a set time. Payment goes through wallets and cards, and QR or number plate entry opens the barrier. A web console lets operators set tariffs, view occupancy and reconcile collections by lot and by shift.

What we build

Core features

01

Map search and availability

Nearby lots on Google Maps or Mapbox with price, distance and current free spaces, plus turn-by-turn handoff to the navigation app.

02

Reservations and hold timers

Reserve a bay for a time window, with a short grace period and automatic release if the driver does not arrive.

03

QR and plate-based entry

A QR pass, or plate recognition where cameras exist, opens the barrier and starts the clock without a paper ticket.

04

Cashless payment and receipts

Pay on exit or in advance through JazzCash, Easypaisa or cards, with digital receipts and monthly passes for regular users.

05

Attendant and operator tools

A staff app to scan passes, handle exceptions, mark bays and close shifts, so manual lots can adopt the system without new hardware.

06

Occupancy and revenue reports

Dashboards by lot, hour and attendant for pricing decisions and for spotting where cash or counts do not match.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Accuracy of live availability

Availability is only as good as its source. We combine sensors, gate counts or attendant input and show an honest status rather than a confident but wrong number.

Hardware integration

Boom barriers, cameras and sensors come from different vendors with different protocols. We assess your existing hardware early so the app matches what is physically installed.

Location use and battery

Showing nearby lots needs location access, but constant tracking is unnecessary. We request permission only when searching and avoid background location that stores may question.

Parking App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Do we need sensors in every bay?

Not necessarily. Smaller lots can run on attendant entries or gate counts, giving approximate availability. Sensors or cameras improve accuracy but add cost and maintenance, so we match the approach to the size of the lot.

Can the app work with our existing barrier system?

Often yes, if the controller exposes an API or relay input. We review the equipment first, and where it cannot be integrated we suggest a staff-scanned workflow as a practical bridge.

Can drivers pay without cash?

Yes. We support wallet and card payments, prepaid balances and monthly passes, with receipts and an operator ledger so reconciliation is automatic.

Can one app cover many lots and operators?

Yes. A multi-operator design gives each lot owner their own tariffs, staff and reports, while drivers use one app across all participating locations.
