Software for Karachi's Pharmaceutical Manufacturers

Karachi hosts many of Pakistan's pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and their supporting distributors. DevKey builds batch, stock and distribution software that fits regulated production, delivered remotely.

The trade, and what it needs from software

Pharmaceutical manufacturing in Karachi spans formulation plants, contract manufacturers and the packaging, raw-material and distribution businesses around them. The work is regulated: every ingredient, batch and shipment must be traceable, and records have to survive inspection.

What this cluster needs from software is disciplined traceability without slowing the floor down. Plants want batch records that staff can fill in reliably, stock that expires on time instead of silently in a corner, and distribution that reaches chemists with the right product. DevKey designs custom systems around your approved procedures and builds them remotely.

How it runs

How the work flows in Karachi

01

Production follows approved batches

Each run is made against a documented formula, with raw materials issued, weighed and recorded, then moved through mixing, filling, packing and quality release. Deviations are logged and investigated before a batch is cleared for sale.

02

Materials carry expiry and status

Raw and packaging materials arrive, wait in quarantine for testing, are released for use and eventually expire. Warehouse staff manage lots and locations so the right material is picked first.

03

Distribution reaches many small buyers

Finished goods go to distributors, hospitals and a long tail of pharmacies. Sales teams take orders in the field, and the company must be able to trace a product back to its batch if a recall is needed.

Common problems

Where things go wrong today

Paper batch records

Handwritten records are slow to review, easy to misplace and hard to search when an inspector or an internal investigation needs one specific batch.

Expiry and lot control

Without lot-level visibility, short-dated stock is found late, and write-offs follow. First-expiry-first-out is hard to enforce on spreadsheets.

Weak traceability in the field

When a product must be traced from batch to pharmacy, disconnected sales and stock records make the exercise slow and incomplete.

Demand planning guesswork

Production plans rely on experience and last month's orders, which leads to either stock-outs of fast movers or surplus of slow ones.

What we build

Software that fixes it

Manufacturing ERP with batch control

Formulas, material issue, batch records, quality holds and release in one system, so each batch carries its complete history from raw material to dispatch.

Manufacturing ERP Development

Warehouse and lot management

Location-aware stock with lot numbers, quarantine status and expiry alerts, guiding pickers to the earliest-expiring lot first.

Warehouse Management Software Development

Quality management workflows

Digital deviation reports, corrective actions and document control with approval trails, replacing paper forms that go missing between desks.

Quality Management Software Development

Distribution and order management

Field order capture, distributor stock and dispatch records linked to batch numbers so product can be traced forward when needed.

Karachi FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can your software support our regulatory inspections?

It can keep the records inspectors ask to see, such as batch histories, approvals and access logs, in a searchable and tamper-evident form. Compliance itself depends on your procedures, which we encode rather than invent.

Do you need to visit our plant in Karachi?

Not as a rule. We study your forms and procedures over video calls and shared documents, then test with your staff remotely. If a site walkthrough would help, we can discuss it, but the work runs from Islamabad.

Can this work alongside the accounting system we already use?

Yes. Stock movements and sales can post into your current accounting package through an integration, so finance keeps its tools while production and warehouse gain batch-level control. This avoids retraining finance staff or migrating years of ledger history just to gain better production control.

Can floor staff use it without much computer training?

We design screens around a single task each, with large controls and barcodes where useful, and test them with your operators. Simple, role-specific screens matter more than feature lists on a busy production floor. Short video guides help new operators.
