Car Dealership SoftwareDevelopment

One system for the cars on your lot, the buyers asking about them and the paperwork that follows each sale.

Car Dealership Software Development: what the work involves

A dealership manages a stock of high-value, one-of-a-kind items. Each car has its own purchase cost, reconditioning spend, documents and asking price, and each buyer has a different budget and a different car in mind. When this lives in chat threads and a ledger, nobody knows true margin per vehicle, follow-ups with serious buyers are forgotten, and transfer papers go missing at the worst moment.

DevKey builds dealership software around the life of a single vehicle, from the day you acquire it to the day the buyer collects it. We record purchase source, workshop and detailing costs, photos and inspection notes, publish selected stock to your website, and track every enquiry through viewing, negotiation and sale. A document checklist makes sure each deal closes with the right papers.

What we build

Core features

01

Vehicle stock register

Make, model, chassis and engine numbers, mileage, condition and photos sit on one record, with status from acquired to sold.

02

Cost and margin per car

Purchase price, transport, repairs, detailing and commissions accumulate against each vehicle, so the sale shows real profit.

03

Buyer enquiry pipeline

Leads from your website, calls and walk-ins are matched to cars, with follow-up reminders and notes on budget and preferences.

04

Trade-in valuation

Record the customer's old car, an appraisal and the agreed allowance, then carry it into stock as a new vehicle in one step.

05

Sale documents checklist

Booking receipt, transfer forms, token and balance payments, and handover are tracked so no deal closes with something missing.

06

Public stock listing

Chosen vehicles publish to a searchable page on your site with filters for make, year and price, kept in sync with showroom status.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Ownership transfer paperwork

Transfer rules differ by province and by whether a car is local or imported. We encode your showroom's checklist rather than pretending to automate the registration authority.

Consignment accounting

Cars sold for an owner belong to someone else until payout. We keep consignment stock and owner balances separate from your own inventory and cash.

Keeping the website honest

A listing for a sold car damages trust. Status changes in the showroom update the public page immediately, and held or booked cars show as such.

Car Dealership Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can the system show our stock on our own website?

Yes. Selected vehicles publish automatically to a filterable listing page on your site, with photos and key specifications. Marking a car sold or booked in the showroom removes or flags it online straight away.

Does it work for imported vehicles?

It can track import-related costs such as freight, duties and clearing charges against the vehicle, so landed cost and margin are accurate. We configure the cost heads to match how you actually import.

Can we manage instalment or token payments?

Yes. Token money, part payments and balance due are recorded against each deal with receipts and reminders, and the car stays marked as booked until the agreed conditions are met.

Can multiple salespeople use it without seeing each other's leads?

Yes. Leads can be assigned to a salesperson and restricted to them, while managers see everything. You choose whether colleagues may view or take over each other's enquiries.
