Franchise Management SoftwareDevelopment

Give the franchisor a clear view of every outlet, and give each franchisee a simple way to order, report and meet brand standards.

Franchise Management Software Development: what the work involves

Franchising succeeds when many independent owners deliver the same experience, and fails when the centre loses sight of the outlets. Sales reports arrive late and in different formats, royalty calculations are disputed, supplies are ordered by phone, and brand standards are checked only when a visit happens. The franchisor needs consistent data, while franchisees need less paperwork, not more.

DevKey builds franchise platforms with two audiences in mind. Franchisees get a portal to report sales, order supplies, raise support requests and see their royalty statements. The franchisor sees every outlet's performance, calculates royalties and fees from reported or POS-fed sales, schedules and records standards audits, and shares manuals and campaigns. Permissions keep each outlet's financials private from its peers.

What we build

Core features

01

Outlet and franchisee records

Agreements, territories, contacts, opening dates and renewal terms for every outlet kept in a central register.

02

Sales reporting and royalties

Collect sales from outlets or from their POS, then calculate royalties and marketing fees according to each agreement.

03

Supply ordering

Franchisees order approved products and materials through the portal, with prices and availability that reflect their agreement.

04

Standards audits

Checklists for visits and mystery shopping record scores, photos and corrective actions, with follow-up tracked until closed.

05

Training and manuals

Operations manuals, campaign materials and training content distributed by outlet, with acknowledgement of important updates.

06

Network performance dashboard

Compare outlets by sales, growth, audit scores and complaints, to identify strong locations and those that need help.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Trusting reported sales

Royalties depend on honest sales. Where possible we pull figures from the outlet's POS, and otherwise compare reported sales with supply purchases to highlight unusual gaps.

Separate legal entities

Franchisees are independent businesses. We keep each outlet's data separate, share only what the agreement allows and make permissions explicit for franchisor staff.

Different agreements

Terms vary across outlets and vintages. We model royalty rules per agreement, with effective dates, so older contracts continue to calculate correctly when new ones start.

Franchise Management Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can royalties be calculated automatically?

Yes. Rules per agreement, such as a percentage of sales, a fixed fee or tiered rates, are applied to the sales data to generate statements. We test the calculation against past statements before using it.

Can franchisees connect their own POS?

If the POS exposes an API or exports data we can ingest, sales can feed in automatically. Otherwise outlets report sales through the portal, and we add checks to catch unusual figures.

Can we run both company-owned and franchised outlets?

Yes. Outlet type changes which rules apply, such as royalties or transfer pricing, while performance dashboards compare all outlets together. This helps brands that convert company stores to franchises over time.

How do audits work?

An auditor completes a checklist on a phone, adds photos and scores, and raises corrective actions with due dates. The franchisee sees and responds to them, and the franchisor tracks closure.
