Loyalty Program SoftwareDevelopment

Reward repeat customers with points, tiers and offers that work across every till, branch and online channel you run.

Loyalty Program Software Development: what the work involves

Loyalty works when customers can see what they have earned and redeem it without friction. Paper stamp cards get lost, and generic apps cannot reflect your margins or your product mix. A programme that is too generous erodes profit, one that is too stingy is ignored, and without data you cannot tell which. The software has to make rules flexible, redemptions fraud-resistant and results measurable.

DevKey builds loyalty platforms around a ledger of points rather than a simple counter. Every earn, redeem, expiry and adjustment is a dated entry, so balances are always explainable. Rules decide how purchases convert to points, tiers unlock benefits, and campaigns add bonuses for chosen products or periods. The POS or website calls an API to look up members and post transactions, and a member view displays balance and offers.

What we build

Core features

01

Points ledger

Every earn, redeem, expiry and correction is stored as a dated entry, so a customer's balance can always be explained line by line.

02

Earning and redemption rules

Define points per spend, category multipliers, minimum spend and redemption value, adjustable without changing code.

03

Tiers and benefits

Members move between levels by spend or visits, and each level unlocks its own benefits and offers.

04

Campaigns and vouchers

Create bonus-points weekends, birthday rewards and single-use voucher codes with start dates, limits and eligible products.

05

POS and online integration

Look up members by phone number or QR code at the till and apply rewards at checkout, with the same rules online.

06

Programme analytics

See enrolment, repeat rate, points liability and campaign response, so you can tune the programme from evidence.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Points liability

Outstanding points are a promise you owe. We report the value of unredeemed points and support expiry rules, so the programme does not become an unexamined financial exposure.

Fraud and abuse

Shared phone numbers, staff self-crediting and repeated voucher use are common. We add limits, one-time codes and audit logs, and require a reason for manual adjustments.

Consent and messaging

Members' phone numbers are personal data. We record consent for promotional messages and make opt-out simple, so campaigns do not become a source of complaints.

Loyalty Program Software Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can it work with our existing POS?

Often, yes. If your POS can call an API or be extended, it looks up members and posts sales. If not, a simple companion screen at the till can handle lookup and redemption alongside the existing system.

How do customers see their points?

Through a member page or app, opened with a phone number or QR code, or in a message after each purchase. They see balance, history, tier progress and any offers available to them.

Can we run the same programme across several outlets?

Yes. Members earn and redeem at any participating branch against one central ledger, and reports show activity by outlet, which helps franchise and multi-store groups run one consistent scheme.

Can points expire?

Yes. You can set expiry after a period of inactivity or a fixed term, with reminder messages ahead of time. The ledger records expiries as entries, so balances stay transparent for customers and your accounts.
