Learning Management SystemDevelopment

Deliver courses, track learner progress and issue certificates on a platform shaped around how you teach, not around a generic template.

Learning Management System Development: what the work involves

Off-the-shelf learning platforms assume one way of teaching. A language institute selling cohort classes, a corporate trainer assigning compliance modules and an academy selling recorded courses all need different enrolment, pacing and reporting. When the tool forces a mismatch, instructors fall back to WhatsApp groups and spreadsheets, and nobody can say who actually finished what.

DevKey develops learning management systems around your delivery model. We structure content as courses, modules and lessons, support video, documents and live-class links, and attach quizzes and assignments that feed a gradebook. Enrolment can be manual, bulk-imported or paid online, and progress data is kept per learner so completion and certificates are never a matter of opinion.

What we build

Core features

01

Course builder

Instructors assemble courses from modules and lessons using video, PDFs, text and external links, with drip release by date or by completing the previous lesson.

02

Quizzes and assignments

Auto-graded quizzes and file-upload assignments feed one gradebook, with deadlines, late rules and instructor feedback on each submission.

03

Cohorts and enrolment

Learners join through admin enrolment, bulk import or online purchase, and are grouped into cohorts with their own start dates and instructors.

04

Progress and completion tracking

Lesson views, quiz scores and time-on-course roll up into a completion state, visible to the learner and to the manager who assigned the training.

05

Certificates

A completion certificate with a unique verification code is generated when your pass rules are met, so third parties can confirm it is genuine.

06

Discussion and announcements

Course-level threads and announcements keep questions with the content instead of scattered across chat apps.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Video hosting and bandwidth

Streaming video is the heaviest part of an LMS. We choose between self-hosted and a streaming service based on audience size, content protection needs and how learners connect.

Content ownership and download control

If you sell courses, you may need to stop casual downloading or link sharing. We use signed, expiring media links and per-account access, while being honest that screen capture cannot be fully prevented.

Reporting that managers will use

Dashboards must answer who is behind and who passed, not display raw logs. We design reports with the person who will chase learners, then export for HR or the registrar.

Learning Management System Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Why build an LMS instead of using a ready-made one?

Ready-made tools are fine if your model matches theirs. A custom build makes sense when you need your own enrolment rules, branding, local payment methods or reporting, or when licensing per learner grows awkward.

Can learners pay with local methods?

Yes. Course checkout can use card gateways as well as JazzCash or Easypaisa where the provider supports your business type, and enrolment is granted automatically when payment confirms.

Can we run live classes inside it?

The platform can schedule live sessions and attach your chosen meeting tool's link, then record attendance and link the recording to the lesson. We usually integrate rather than build video conferencing from scratch.

What determines the timeline?

The number of content types, payment and certificate rules, reporting needs, and whether existing learner data must be migrated. A focused first release with core delivery can launch earlier, with extras added afterward.
