Donation AppDevelopment

Donors give when they trust where the money goes. We build giving flows that are quick to complete and transparent afterwards.

Donation App Development: what the work involves

A donation app lets charities, trusts and campaigns collect gifts, pledges and zakat from supporters directly on their phones. The business problem is trust and friction. Donors hesitate when they cannot see how funds are used, and abandon forms that need too many steps, while organisations spend days reconciling cash, bank transfers and wallet payments.

DevKey builds donation apps with campaign pages, one-tap giving, recurring pledges and a donor account holding receipts and tax documents. Payments go through JazzCash, Easypaisa and cards locally, and Stripe for diaspora donors. A Node.js and PostgreSQL back end tracks funds by campaign and purpose, while staff publish updates, photos and reports that appear in the donor's feed.

What we build

Core features

01

Campaign pages and progress

Stories, photos and targets for each cause, with a live amount raised and the number of donors, shown in a way that invites sharing.

02

Fast checkout in local and foreign currency

Quick giving by wallet, card or bank, with Stripe for overseas gifts, preset amounts and minimal form fields.

03

Zakat calculator and fund tagging

A calculator for zakat and the ability to direct gifts to zakat-eligible, general or specific funds, with clear separation in the books.

04

Recurring pledges

Monthly or Ramadan-only giving with reminders, easy pause and cancel, and receipts for every payment.

05

Impact updates and transparency

Field photos, reports and spending summaries pushed to donors of each campaign, closing the loop on how funds were used.

06

Receipts and admin reporting

Automatic donation receipts and a staff dashboard that reconciles gifts by campaign, method and date for audits.

Planned for

What we get right before launch

Regulation and credibility

Charities face registration, financial reporting and anti-money-laundering rules, and scam campaigns erode donor confidence. We build verification, audit logs and clear disclosure of who is collecting.

Payment security and fees

Gateways charge fees that reduce what reaches the cause. We support the lowest-cost method per donor and never store card details, relying on tokenised providers.

Donor privacy

Many donors give anonymously. Name display, public lists and communications must respect that, and donor data should not be shared without clear consent.

Donation App Development FAQ

Common questions, answered

Can donors give from outside Pakistan?

Yes. Stripe supports international cards and local currencies, while local wallets and bank transfers serve donors inside the country. The app can show the right options based on the donor's location.

Can we separate zakat funds from general donations?

Yes. Each donation carries a fund tag, and reports show balances per fund. This helps organisations apply zakat only to eligible uses and show donors the distinction.

How do we show donors that funds are used well?

By publishing campaign updates with photos, receipts and spending summaries to those who gave. Regular transparent reporting does more for repeat giving than any design feature.

Do we need our own app or a campaign page?

A campaign web page may suffice for a single appeal. An app suits organisations with recurring donors, many campaigns and a wish for push updates, receipts and pledge management.
